The time is nearly upon us for the Worlds.

Does anyone know how we obtain the rifle permit & any other documents required ????

I have posted the link below from the Worlds site.

    http://www.fieldtarget.hu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=23&Itemid=23&lang=en

There is no link on the website as far as i can see to register your rifle to obtain the permit ( which i have already paid for ).

I submited my details on the application but as in some peoples cases you change your kit????

Can anyone cast any light on the subject please????

Have you had the confirmation email Scott?

    I've flagged it up.

I may have to make some documentation for download that you can fill in.

If you need your contact details changed, then tough titty, you should have kept the walther :D

(or you can email them to get them changed ;))

I'd CC everyone on this list and see what reply you get

Berty, i'm going to call Roger later and see if the BFTA will give their name to documentation, or else if WAFTA, SARPA and the EFTA will have to make their own up. I've also asked Doc about what he suggests, explaining to him that the EFTA has no members... or member numbers...

I might have to get creative in photoshop (again) :D

I have spoken to Roger about what the BFTA can do, and I need to talk to Doc about what they need. Don't worry, we'll do everything we can. One idea is that with the entries being finalised at the start of August, we'll have a list of names and will be able to provide numbers. Then hopefully the HFTA can tie that up with the list of kit they collected, and issue the permits... but we'll see. Hopefully we can avoid having to issue a doc specific to each and every person, but we'll have to see what comes out in the wash. Don't worry, we're on it :)

Recived email from Doc today ( see below ) looks like they do require individual permits specific to each person, & no i'm not panicing .............................. yet !

    Dear Scott,

The precedure is easy. I assume it is already described in the 'how to bring your air rifles to Hungary' section of our official website.

    Just to remember:
    - you provided all of the data
    - we need a paper from the national association which authorizes the membership (details on the previouskly mentioned webpage)
    - i will send you a document (for each of the shooters) as an empowerment that must be signed and sent by fax to the police directly.
    - you will be receiving the permit by post from us.

I am to write the exact description this weekend with the documents etcetera.

    Regards,
    Doc

I am speaking to Doc on email to see if we can do this in one shot.

Else I'll be doing some leg work... ;) The BFTA have already jumped in and said they'd sign it off, so we're just awaiting what HFTA actually needs and we'll be on it.

If we can't do it in one shot, then i'll have some running around to do. Fret not, we have 2 months :)

So, as soon as registration closes, and Doc has sent me your details, I will pass them onto the BFTA and Roger will issue a letter which we will email to the HFTA.

But you need to also prepare that authorisation for the HFTA to act on your behalf for the permits, so line up a fax machine or someone to fax the documents over, once Doc has sent them out.

    All in hand :)

    cool...

what would really help me, is if people could email me on admin@shooting-the-breeze.com the following :

Full Name (needed for obvious reasons)
Address (so i can pass it on so they know where to send the email)
Passport no. (so customs can corrolate a person's id)
Telephone no. (so I can contact you each to check everything is ok)

Rifle, make, model and serial number (yep, your going to have to make a decision on this by the end of this week)

Also an email address or fax number would be nice... because i've got to prepare some authorisation forms that you need to send off, and it would be easier via email or fax, as opposed to snail mail.

I know that's a lot of info to trust me with, but i'm afraid that's the easiest way.

If you can get as many of fellow shooter's details as well, that would be great... or get them to email me.

The more info I have up front, the easier and faster it will be :)

If you want to add your credit card details and date of birth, great, my bolivian retirement fund does need a top up :D... but they're not needed ;)

    Permits & Pellets

Have you heard any news on the permits Rob ??? From our end & the Hungarian end ???

Another brief question on similar lines is what the airlines class as ammunition or in our case pellets ???

Apparently they can't be carried in your rifle case they have to be stored in your hold luggage ie case ???

Spoke to a few people and everyone has verified the above? ................................................. but ? before i was to potentially ask the question to Easy Jet & open a potential can of worms can anyone confirm through past experiance?

Please see Easy Jets ammunition policy below.
Firearms and explosives. Handguns, automatic weapons, munitions, ammunitions including blank cartridges, pistol caps, fireworks, flares, smoke canisters, and crackers. Note: As an exception, sporting/competition firearms and a maximum of 5kgs of ammunition (UN0012 or UN0014) may be carried in hold luggage with appropriate paperwork, subject to available space, if declared at check-in and securely boxed or packaged. Please note ammunition must be packed as part of passenger hold baggage and separated from firearms. Passengers checking in firearms must check in at least 90 minutes prior to the scheduled time of departure. (see note 1 above).

From past experience, pack it in your hold luggage...

Pack your pellets in HOLD luggage;)
Inside a pair of socks inside a pair of shoes works well to protect them!
