A few HP shooters in there Brian, but they should keep you honest. Depending how the rest of the have become accustomed to wind will depend on how you fair in the overall field.

Only 3 HP shooters registered and they're all shooting springers.

With less than 10% of the field shooting HP, makes you kinda wonder whether it was worth putting an extra 150 targets out just for 3 people.

Early days yet though, I should imagine there'll be more people booking up before kickoff.

(Edit: sorry, I didn't spot the HP pcp shooter in there as well)

I'm not surprised that there's only 40 shooters registered with the attitude that's been shown by some of the people involved with putting it on.

Think you'd have got more if you'd have hosted it in Skegvegas , right on sea front !

Its earlly days yet and we know how expensive it is to come round to this side of the world to shoot but sure the list will grow greatly. Once the shooters are here they will be well looked after and a very friendly atmosphere. Sorry to here you think there has been a bad attitude:p:p:D:D but you will find it be a great time out here in New Zealand:):) with great poeple.

    Cheers Andy

I know the assumption is that cost is the main issue with uptake and although I think that may be true in a lot of cases, I think it's also a lack of information that's slowing things down now - so the more information the better really. I appreciate that Adam has had more than his fair share of personal tragedy recently :(

If cost was the only issue, I'd expect to see more South African's booked in since the costs of flights from SA is less than half of the cost from the UK.

I know there are more people waiting in the wings to book up - perhaps some more details about accommodation at the scout camp would be good. What sort of accommodation is it? When is it available from/to, how many to a hut? that sort of thing.

People flying long distances will want some time before the comp to recover from jet lag, so it would be helpful to know if the scout huts are available before the competition starts.

There aren't many hotels / places to stay near to the camp (that I could find anyway) I'm staying in Lower Hutt (about 30 mins drive away). I think Richard B has found a place a little closer.

The South Africans are at present busy shooting National Trials (last day tomorrow) and the team will be named at the close of the competition.
How many of the top 8 will attend I cannot say, but national Protea colors are at stake and you must attend worlds in order to qualify for them.

Francois has started his studies and called it quits for the foreseeable future and wont be attending worlds.

For any information as to availability length of stay size of accommadation ect that you may need
go to this site specially for the Worlds 2014 for all your needs.
    http://nzafta.forumotion.co.nz/
    http://nzafta.forumotion.co.nz/t65-accommodation
Here you can make contact and ask for your specific needs and Im sure they will see what they can do in a great freindlly manner. The longer it is left then it maybe less likely to get all your needs so the sooner you book the better if you are going to attend the Worlds.
On the above web site there is a map of the accom and surounds.
Hope this helps with any questions

How can this comp be called the worlds when no one is going with only 40 entries something wrong if it is.
you get more of a comp going to some local clubs.

even if 40 is the max amount of competitors, and you win your still world champion. you can only beat whats in front of you!

    What's the problem

Why are people not going? Is it the expense or the gun laws or both?
Surely before countries are allowed to host such a prestigious event these things should be taken into account.
