You need to decide if its to be
    1.adjustable,
2.removable with some heat and tools, or
    3.pretty damn permanent.
The colour will vary but with loctite its 1.purple
    2.blue
    3.red ( or maybe green)
The tools available and location will also determine what strength. If its a moderator slid onto a barrel then even purple is going to be a beggar to get off without marking the metal.

    google loctite.co.uk

I use Blue....but only because i have plenty. I've snapped 2 allen keys trying to get the bearing off in the past so now go straight to a 2.5mm HSS drill. I fitted a roller bearing to my second Steyr 8 years ago with no Loctite and it's still fine.

    Thanks all for your comments.

After reading wiki and loctites page I settled on blue, let's see what happens.
