    Needed

I have one that can focus down to 10yds and the other one 11yrds.

50ft adaptor is needed for an FT GP comp on the close ones.

    10yrds clear in x40
    9yrds clear on x10
If its blurry on x10 its 8yrds if the course setter has been honest and taped it 24ft from the firing line!

Make life easier and if you can get a close focus.;)

If you buy a duff Mk3 - like your Mk1 was then it will do the same.

My Mk1 and Mk2 are fine on 10 mag - I have to come down to 10 mag to aim off on the real close targets.

May be worth checking if your ret is moving when you hit the extremes of the mag adjustment - it may need tightening up.

Use the CFA to determine the distance to target then swing it out of the way for the shot, just in case it's not square to the optical axis and introduces some off-centre refraction.
