    WFTF 2018 : Poland information

We're starting to see some information coming through for the FT Worlds in Poland.

Here's some shots of the range at Zawiercie.

    http://mp2017.pl/index.php/en/location/photos

Dates to be around end of August to start of September. 4 star hotel nearby with room for 500. Transport to and from the range laid on by the event.

Obviously all subject to change, but that's a taster.

Think I need accelerate the work on my adjustable fore-end idea a little...

That looks interesting, think I'll get a Rowan extension if I can get a pass.

    Worlds 2018 Qualification

I can't take part in the 2017 Europeans but I'm going to the Welsh 2017 Worlds as a Junior
(I can't get 2 consecutive weekends off School in an A level year). Does this mean I can't be considered for the Worlds 2018 Senior England Team for Poland ? Josh :shot:

'Junior' is a class within the PCP category, so you're actually shooting for the PCP World title like everyone else regardless of what class you shoot in. If you finish in the top 3 in your category ( PCP ) in Wales then you're guaranteed a place for 2018. If you don't and you don't attend the Worlds Qualifier ( the BFTA Europeans ) then I'm afraid it means you can't be considered for a place on the England Team 2018.

Unless the selection criteria changes in the meantime.

    Hi Brian,

Just asking out of idle curiosity as it is VERY unlikely to apply to me.

Is it the top 3 overall that are guaranteed a place in the comp, or are the top 3 English shooters guaranteed a place in the English team?

    Alan.

Top 3 from wherever are offered a wftf place

Efta shooters if not in the top 3 have to qualify for a team spot.

The big question is what will poland set entry limit at?
300 ( 1 session) and it could sadly be team places only.

If its more and 2 sessions then i would expect all that want to go, will go.

    Never say never :D

It's a top 3 podium place in your category - so if an English shooter comes 1st, 2nd or 3rd - they're guaranteed a place on the team next year.

That applies to the PCP team and the Springer team. So Steve Privett didn't shoot the Euro's this year, but since he finished in Portugal with a podium place ( 2nd ) he was automatically offered a place on the Springer team.

    2 options for direct.

    BA or LOT from Heathrow.

    BA £180 + £150 for guns

LOT £250 + £80-160 depending on size of your gun case (+158 cm more expensive)

I don't think I want to muck around with transfers again if I don't have to.

We're only two weeks away from the trip to Poland, yet there is a deathly silence from the organisers. Does anyone have information on the event? Is there going to be any official invites, or do we just turn up at Polish customs and smile sweetly?
    Getting frustrated !

I emailed them a couple of times about invite letters but never had a reply. Bri put me on to Sergio Rita who replied last week saying he had contacted Poland and would be in touch as soon as he had some info.

    Fingers crossed
