    Average 8.35 joules ?

    That's a strange level .
Is this a German model for use there ? what's the legal limit ?

    That' s 6.15 ft lb
    That's just under 585 fps with 8.4s

For a springer at those levels I can't think of a reason not to go for a FWB300 or an Original 75

or for other non pcp , one of the SSP Walthers .

Yes... its for the german 7.5J (5.5ftlb) class. This is a class where everybody shoots who hasn´t a special permission to shoot stronger rifles. I think about 60-65% of the competition shooters in germany shoot in our class 3, 4, 5. 3 is pcp up to 5.5ftlb, 4 is springer up to 7,5ftlb. 5 is class for FWB300, Diana75 etc.

We have very strict law :-(

Class 5 has same power as 3 and 4... but often the class 5 rifles are a little bit faster than 7,5J. But this is ok...

But you still don’t need EWB? Very interesting subject, as we Dutch shooters like to go to German events, but can’t get our air rifles to be added to a European Fire Arms passport. (As the Dutch government doesn’t see air rifles in any way as a fire arm). We are all afraid to travel into Germany with anything that has more than 7,5 joules of power.

Yes this is really very difficult! For the 7,5J Weapons you don´t need the EWB. For everything that is higher power you need. But if you have an old rifle before 1970, it can have the power it was produced. Like the Weihrauch HW35. It has 13,8J and it is ok.
This is very difficult. And it isn´t easy for shooters from outside of germany to come to competitions with their rifles...

normally yes. But if you shoot it with pellets like RWS or H&N, the speed of the pellet will be slower. So it is ok.
