If you wash your pellets fo you have to lube them
    Is it a must.
If it is what lubes are the most popular to use
I have bought dome jsb pellets and they seem quite dirty my fingers are very grey after use .
    Any help appreciated Cheers
    David

I don't wash my pellets but if you don't lube I guess you have to use quickly to avoid oxidation.

I put about one third of a tin in a lint free cloth, spray with LT1 and then tumble them for about 10 seconds to ensure distribution of lube.

A couple of drops of FP10 works ok, time will tell though. To be honest it takes that much time inspecting each pellet for damage skirts these days I might as well wash & lube them in the process to ensure any misses is just down me! Many shooters don't bother though!:shot:

I use the three step method:

    1. Open Tin
    2. Inspect Yes/No
    3. Shoot it

Washing up liquid, even the expensive makes, contain salt., which will react with the lead.

If you are into washing your pellets, use a wool washing liquid soap, supposedly they do not contain salt.

Did you size the hammer first Chris? Makes a huge difference to downrange BC. AA being softer are far more sensitive to hammer size than the much harder JSB variants. I've found that JSB batch 13 seems to respond best using a 2lb ball pein that has been sized to 1.866 inches (+- 50%) and chilled to 8 degrees centigrade but only if your barrel twist is 18 inches and it's Tuesday.

    Hope that helps
