Any idea if this can be made to do FT?

As far as I know, only a 12 fpe regulator change is needed.

On the LG300 XT, only the reg needed to be changed to a 12 fpe reg to make it work for FT.....

Wonder if it's the same on the LG400???

    Anyone????

    Robbie,

How about asking Walther directly ?

I have a few contacts there, but I think you are ahead of every one in this regard with your "insider" contacts :D:D:D

Peter, I have already started asking questions.

it is possible as far as I've heard, but the guys are swamped to make the 10m version shoot as well as it can, so maybe in the next few months only...

    Let's hope it can.

I won't be surprised to see an LG400 Dominator in the next year - not sure they're considering it, but who knows what the future holds.

Nothing from the guys at Walther yet - got my info from an outsider.

Just spoke to the engineers at Walther.

They are extremely busy making sure the 10m rifle is working properly, and to try and build as many of them as possible to satisfy demand.

They told me that because the rifle was so new, they actually did not know how much effort and parts would be involved to see if it could be made to do FT well.

They suspect that a longer barrel would be needed, new reg and new striker pin...and maybe some more mods.

As they don't have one which they could "experiment with at this time, it's hard to say what all would be needed...

So at this time nothing positive....maybe sometime next year, but not now.

    Cheers

    Robbie

what's the point? I'm not seeing any fundamental changes of benefit. It's debatable if the magentic stabaliser could work at higher powers, the reg would need work, and the rest of the action has little difference to the 300's. Barrels are likely to be the same as the old 10m guns, trigger might be different, but that's no big deal.

Just got this email from Walther too:

    "Dear Robert,
    *
I have received the same question from our dealer in the Netherland "Krale"
    *
It is not possible to fit a 16 joules regulator because the other parts inside the rifles are not made for 16 joules regulator.
    *
    Kind Regards"

So, doesn't seem that this is workable for now....

    Oh well....

...and from the way you & I think :D ! ... either you or I ARE going to have to have it checked by the Guru for modding, for a definitive YES...can be done, or NO , and you or I are stuck with a 10m gun :D:D:D

So, the next question is...who is going to blink first ? ;) ie: buy the gun in Jan 2011 ???

    Peter, I like that rifle....

BUT, not available for quite some time....I called today to ask for a 10m rifle for our best 10m shooter in SA, and was told MAYBE March 2011, or even a little later.

I guess you guys in Europe have a much better chance of getting one sooner.:)
