Wafta Winter series Rd 5 - Tondu FTC
Some brief details
Our 40 shot Ft course will be out for our round of the Winter Wafta series shoots, so plenty of different guns / rigs to be seen as well as some of the countrys top shooters.
There will also be the usuall zero / plinking range and at least one side shoot.
Be great to see some new faces come and have a go. You dont need anything fancy, just come and have a go.
Otherwise, pop over to Tondu any saturday from 10 am onwards. Practise / plinking range out every weekend and plenty of advise and help on hand.
How to find us here
i hope i do well with .22
That Mathew, Depends on how well you Range find, read the wind and of course what you set yourself a taget as "well?" Set yourself a target of about 15 - 20? you will need to start practising Standers and kneelers too.
I will be deciding Friday or Saturday if it will be a 30 shot course (New wafta ruling) and 10 shot vermin, or a 40 shot course and "10 shot Extreme" Side shoot
Simon what is new wafta ruling
Are the 10 vermin shots ie: small kills and half hidden and mesh in front of targets ?
New ruling is that if a club wishes, a winter rd (not summer) can be a 30 shot course instead of a 40 shot course.
This means your not so cold when you have finished as it does not take so long to shoot.
I am not so cold setting it out and bringing it in.
Hopefully, if a club does put a 30 shot course out and a side shoot or two, shooters will spend some more time on side shoots and thus raise more cash for clubs.
not so cold r love em I was out for 3 1/2 hours on the mountain bike today with the lads from work soaked right though by the end
il be practising my kneeler's and standers. saturday
In the rain
See you Saturday.
Standers and kneelers will be what sorts the top scores out sunday I think.
Intend putting out an easy course as we have some new shooters and I am doing it Sporting Ft
The 15 ml may catch some out, but Kneelers and standers will be good uns!
Broke the Back
Good bit of saterdays work done today, Good to see young Mathew Cook getting to grips with course layout, learning new things like when a 20 stone bloke pulls the string your holding onto make sure your footing is safe. Sorry Math!
Dave Gage done a stirling job once again, my thanks to both for todays company.
Just a few lanes to sort out Saturday morning to get the balance of the course right and then its targets out.
Changed the usuall lanes over the bottom ponds to get some new angles on a few targets. Should be an easy enough start though??
a bit of wind and lane two could take marks???
Think the averages when i have done them will make it a hitable course, and indeed with the likes of Mike Williams due to attend, Peter Jacob, Berty if his sscope dont Freeze? And the the Nelson boy Racer Harris it could be cleared??
At least Doz aint coming!
