Vintage/classic spring gun competition lea valley 29-12 2012

    THE HOWLING WIND BLOWING THROUGH THE TREE OUTSIDE MY BEDROOM WINDOW DURING THE NIGHT BODED WELL FOR THE VINTAGE/CLASSIC OPEN SIGHT SPRING GUN COMPETITION.
    THE COURSE WAS SET IN ARENA ONE BY MIKE CARNEY MAL GWYNNE AND MYSELF MOSTLY UNDER COVER, A BIT SNUG BUT THE COMPETITION PRCEEDED NICELY.
    25 TARGETS NEAREST AT TEN YARDS AND THE FURTHEST 35 YARDS WHICH INCLUDED TWO POSITIONALS, ONE STANDER AND ONE KNEELER BOTH UN-SUPPORTED AND A GOLDEN SHOT.
    ROGER FOSTER SEEMED TO BE THE ARMOURER SUPPLYING SEVERAL RIFLES FROM HIS COLLECTION OF OLD TWANGERS.
    THE FORCAST WAS FOR RAIN MID-DAY ONWARDS AND THEY WERE ALMOST CORRECT AS IT STARTED TO DRIZZLE JUST AS WE FINISHED.
    THE SCORES WERE CHECKED AND THERE NO SHOOT-OFF'S SO THE COURSE WAS BROUGHT IN WITH EVERYONE HELPING, DOESN'T TAKE LONG WHEN EVERYONE HELPS.

    19 PEOPLE GOT THE GOLDEN SHOT AND I (DAVE MANSFIELD) WON THE CARD DRAW WINNING A TROPHY AND A "SQUAWKING" BUNNY!!!.
    ALL THE CARDS WERE PUT IN A DRAW FOR THE EIGHT RAFFLE PRIZES ON OFFER, THE WINNERS NOT IN SPECIFIC ORDER WERE:-

    Thank you all at LVAGC for a smashing day and a chance to have a play with some `real` Air rifles in good company. It was good to hear cheers go up when the targets were knocked over, especialy some of the further ones.
    Thank you for all your hard work and I look forward to seeing you all again in similar circumstances.
