So I’ve been thinking for a while that HFT does not align with my values as a Vegan.
There are many threads stating that HFT is not designed to simulate hunting scenarios and is a target sport.
So......... as a Vegan I am against hunting and eating meat!!
Would it be too much of an issue to ban animal silhouette targets and simply have standard shapes (circles, triangles etc.)? I’m not against vegetable shaped targets if anyone wants to make them.

Yes...and why should a meat eating non hunting HFT target shooter, who couldn't care less what the shape of the tin chicken are, worry about a Vegans moral values because he doesn't like the animal shape targets.:p:D

If the boot was on the other foot, would you change to animal shapes??....think not.

And if you can't distinguish the difference between HFT (shooting metal targets with different kill sizes at different ranges) and real hunting then there is no point in explaining it.

I suppose you could always go and do what those guys did some 26/27 odd years ago in Hampshire and came up with HFT that so many of us enjoy, and set up your own version of the sport....Vegan FT and not expect everyone else to change or do all the work for you.

I’m sure it’s written on the back of all animal shaped targets stating “no animals were harmed making this metal silhouette target”

I've just paid good money for a vegetarian target to keep the Southerners happy and now I'm going to have to change it again. I've had enough of this P.C.F.T.H.F.T.B.S.

I'm sure in even smaller writing it says under that,
But quite likely plenty of Chinese children where harmed in the factories making the steel....

    I have Vegaphobia:D:D

Vegaphobia is an aversion tovegetarian and vegan people. ... Negative items were in order of frequency: ridiculing veganism; characterize veganism as asceticism; affirming that veganism is difficult or impossible to sustain; describeveganism as a fashion; portray vegansas sentimentalists; defining vegans as hostile.

Explains why my scores have been dropping lately, I thought it must have been the high winds of late but it turns out, that there has been a vegan amongst us :eek: :D:D

While we are discussing this can we get a change to scoring ? Calling a miss a doughnut is stressful and upsetting to the diabetics among shooters . In addition calling a "plate" could upset folks on a Diet who would be reminded they cant have full plates any more

Good point Pete, and quite possibly some vegetables were 'hurt' as some of those missed targets were in fields growing vegetables, double standards I think :D
