Anyone over there know much about these and if they're useable for FT. Only looked though a couple of the long range models on F-class fullbore setups but I know the glass is very very good.

The local NZ importer has told me he can do me this model the 36x42 benchrest for the about the same price as importing a Leupold comp 45x.

    Your thoughts?

What's the minimum focus distance? There is a Minox 6-30 that is very light for a variable but won't focus under 25.

    Not sure about the 36x.

The big brother will focus down to 21 feet or something ridiculous. Not interested in that one though, too expensive, too heavy, etc.

I have the IOR (valdata) 36x42 BR scope on my 6mmBR firearm and it is a very fine scope with a very nice reticle.
Very very bright, superb glass, before this I had a Leupold VXIII 8-25, but my eyes are aging. it perorms better than the Leup imho.
On the focus, the closest range is 25mtr, so not usable directly for FT.
    Regards,
    Rob

primarily the weight of it. Secondly i couldnt get 35mm low dovetail mounts. I couldnt fault the glass or the ret. lovely scope to look through.

Ok. The 36x42 is a 30mm tube so no issues there. Did you reparallax to 10yards? and was it the standard method unscrewing the front ocular etc?

Occular is the rear eyepiece lens. ;)

    Front lens is the objective.

Hi Davey, has your local importer got the Valdada 1-10x26 dfp eliminator in stock? got all excited about one of these a while back but cant find one anywhere! Except for FT range finding this has to be one of the most versatile scopes ever made.

    Simon.

Not that I'm aware of but I can find out?

Does your local UK importer not stock them?

    Leup. V IOR.

    Hi Davey ,
We do not have an IOR importer for scopes in the UK. It used to be Border Barrels in Scotland but they have given it up for various reasons. The nearest importer is in Belgium but his contact details on his website are non existant, which doesnt inspire you with confidence. ( I was looking for an IOR Preditor ,which I have since found out to be useless for FT.)
IMHO I would every time buy a Leup. You know who uses them , you know the results they have achieved they are the safe bet. The IOR may be the best scope in the World for FT but some one has yet to prove it .
Hope to see you in Germany or if not NZ.

    Regards Gerard.

I know that my supplier in the Netherlands also ships IOR to the UK, as is stated on his website.

Welp, the factory aren't interested in re-parallaxing a 36x42 down to 10 yards for me and given it is a bit of an unknown I guess I'll save towards a Leupold 45x for now. Thanks guys!
