Hello folks, from some conversations at my local club I got the impression that to enter UKAHFT I have to "pre book". Could someone please advise me as to what I'd have to do and when I'd have to do it in order to take part in the 2010 competitions?

    Kind Regards
    Bob

The forms will be available to download on the UKAHFT site, no doubt Sparky will announce when they are ready to download but last year I think they were on there just after The Gathering;):D Its advisable to pre book as most of the shoots do get fully booked up.

You can still book in for the remaining 2009 events Bob, there's Quarry next Sunday, Emley next month for the final round and the Gathering/All Comers the month after.;)

Many thanks for your helpful replies guys. I'll look out for the forms to appear. I had been on the UKAHFT site but was unsure if I'd understood it properly, so thanks for confirming that.

Hi Ryan, I had thought about the remaining 2009 series but decided against it as there are only 2 rounds left, also it'll give me a few months extra to practice (and I need ALL the practice I can get ;) ).

Thanks one and all and I'll look forward to shooting with you all in 2010. :)

    Hi Bob & Welcome.

You should still try to enter the remaining 2 rounds if it's only to introduce yourself & get some practice shooting in the competition environment.

    Take care,

    Steve.

Just get stuck in Bob, there's no better practice than actually getting stuck in doing it, it'll give you an idea of how good things can be when you go to some of the best grounds in the country, shoot courses put out by the best course setters and watch some of the best shots do their thing. Quarry and Emley definitely fall into that category.

Stop it ya bad boy :D stop tempting me. Anyway, I might be able to justify it to Mrs Ratty if there is a competition involved, but convincing her that spending over £40 in fuel (we are pensioners ya know) just for "practice" would not succeed ;)

Practice or competition it's all the same thing, or make a weekend of it and say it's a weekend away but you want to do some shooting at the same time!;)
