Titanium and aluminium are more or less same weight.

    depends how much you have...

Titanium for the same amount weighs almost twice as much as ally, and half as much as steel, give or take.

The advantage of Ti is it's strength, but if you don't need that then it's a waste and could make things heavier over ally. All depends on the wall thickness. I have seen some Ti tubes weigh more than the factory ally ones they replace though.

The titanium replacement cylinder on my 9015 weighs more than the original (damaged) alloy one, this is in part because of the available titanium od / id tube sizes.

    Still, it looks good.

Aluminium is 300g lighter than the original. But the volume is less because of the thicker wall.

Weight by volume (google says) ...

    Steel: 7.9kg/m3
    Aluminium: 2.7kg/m3

Thanks Steve, so dependent on the wall thickness required for each material for the required pressure, that will give a cylinder weight in total,
calculator and physics app about to go into overdrive.

I had a titanium tube on an EV2. Was a while ago now but I'm pretty sure the titanium cylinder was 200g lighter.

Don't have a FTP steel cylinder to weigh but a titanium cylinder the same size
weighs 408 grams or 14.375 ozs.
Certainly wouldn't entertain the idea of using one made from aluminium that was the same size.
