A great day's competition. Great company. Thanks to my companions Nick and Justin from Cambridge. The banter was great as we went round.:D:D

The bluebells are our annual problem but we can't get rid of them. Still, it made for some interesting positional shots.

Even if it didn't look like it, there was a way through for all the targets.

Well done to all the winners although the overall winner was Essex Air Ambulance.

I enjoyed my first visit to Thorpe Hall and found it an interesting course. B****y bluebells!!!!
Well done to all the organisers for a great day. The food was good and everyone was very friendly. Nothing seemed too much trouble.
Well done, too, on the money raised for the Air Ambulance.
Looking forward to shooting there again.

    Hi DreamGenie
Glad you had a good day at THW , You are always welcome at THW as all MAD members are.

Its a shame that the chaps who walked off with all the top prizes on the day , obviously didn't enjoy themselves as we've had no feedback from any of them. We at THW appologise if they were offended in any way by anything on the day, we would have thought the top prize winners would have posted on here on how they rinsed the rest of us.:D:D

    Sorry Sixshooter

but only one of your members has posted on here so maybee you should speak to your own people first before having a go at M.A.D. I believe that the reason shooters from mad have not posted, is we did not want to rub it in, that we beat you so badly.

Also, it does not help, when people like (smellmybum) make sarky comments about Maldon.

I had a good day and it was a great cause, but I personally do not like shooting through bluebells as it makes it more about luck then skill. I have written the piece up for airgunner and it will be in the issue out on 1st of August and I am sure you will be happy with it.

    all the very best

    Hi Gary,
With reference to smellmybum, who the hell is he, he's nothing to do with THW. With reference to only one of our members commenting about the day, as far as I am aware there is only a couple of our members on this forum as most post on the other one.
As it was for the Essex Air Ambulance, it would have been nice to know that all our efforts to raise such a pleasing amount for them, had been worthwhile and that everyone was happy with the outcome.

Just to note, we were not being sarky to mad members your always welcome at our club, so chill out chilli!:D

    Sixshooter,

I am very chilled out and I will point out, it is not me criticizing another clubs members on an open forum.

As stated, I enjoyed the day, but I should not be made to feel guilty if I chose not to post anything on a website.

Sorry you guys at THW are so upset.

It doesn't matter! We all turned up to shoot, and raise money for, a worthwhile cause.
Each club does things differently and, as Gary says, we don't always comment on the forum!

    Hi Gary
With reference to ( Sorry you Guys at THW are so upset)

I can asure you the club members at thw probably dont give a toss. I was only trying to get some feedback from other clubs who were there on that day. Mainly because it was the first time we had held a big comp
at Thw . And that myself and my wife had spent alot of time sorting the event out , And as THW club has
been suggested in the past and quite recently, that we arent " all that" and not worth a look( By someone from another club) ,i just wanted to make sure it was a great day had by all . And not someone slagging off my club. like normal. We at thw worked bloody hard on that day and im so sorry that asking if if the top shooters of the day enjoyed themselves has got your back up! It seems your instantly on the defensive this week going by other posts that are on here too. Hence thats why we suggested you chill out!

    yours

    Hi Tony / Karen.

your last shoot was well run and organised and it was clear a lot of hard work was put into the preparation of the shoot. With referance to your coarses " that arent all that" i would disagree the coarse was set to thorpe hall rules and not UKAHFT rules.
Which means large kills at close range and other smaller mini kills a bit closer/further away witch did catch a few people out as they are stuck in the ukahft rules mind set, the blue bells, twigs, mounds and logs along the pellet path made each shot a challenge as you had to find a way through this meant taking some shots standing and kneeling rather than all prone. I personally enjoyed every shot i took and for me it made a change from the clear lanes on a ukhahft set coarse.
The food drinks and catering were also great my only complaint for the day would be that i was not a good enough shot to win the gun or any of the cash prizes, but i did win a few prizes in the raffle to make up for it.
The event in my eyes was a great success and i hope it becomes an annual event i will be back and hope to see all your members down at MAD for some of our shoots in the future.

    altb Darren

    Hi Tony and Karen,

The day was a roaring success, I had agreat day. Granted I couldn't shoot for s##t and get a score good enough to win the gun, but it seemed I bought the best run of raffle tickets on the planet that day. A very nice scope received with thanks. So once again mate well done to you and yours for a really good day out. All of it for a very worthy cause:):):)

    All the best

Sorry for my late reply but i didnt even see this thread.

A great day was had by everyone i spoke to and of course by myself too.

I was gutted that i didnt win the gun as it would have made a great club trainer gun for mad.

Also being beaten by Kyle (who is clearly a rubbish shot) in the shoot off bought me to tears and has taken me until today to recover from the trauma!

Well done to thorpe hall on a successful event that in my opinion should be made a regular annual shoot.

Thank you to karen for organizing the food and to everyone else for their obvious hard work. Im surprised that thorpe hall would need to ask what anyone thought of the day as it was clear that everyone enjoyed themselves from where i was standing.

    atb.

    Richard woods.
