    Cracking competition - Frayed Knot

    The Frayed Knot 2009

What a cracking competition, today at Far Coley, well done to ALL the lads and lasses at Far Coley for a great day, and whats more a fantastic course (both white & yellow - AM & PM)

The wind was a tester again, the field (AM) and the bowl (PM) caused me, along with a number of other shooters, a serious number of problems.

Course builders please take pity on us !!

A well thought out course to test all, including the very best in our sport !! (God help the rest of us !)

    Thanks again Far Coley

    John Waterfield

A BIG thanks to all at Far Coley, MFTA & NEFTA for a great days shooting.
Pete, Daz, Carl, Martin, Neal and any others I have forgotten to mention deserve a mighty slap on the back for setting out two very different courses which created many challenges. All targets were clearly visible, leaving the shooter the challenge of hitting them, with only a very tricky wind to contend with. Absolutely fantastic.
The company was excellent, the weather was spot on. I doubt it gets better than this.
Well done to all at Far Coley.
    Excellent.

What a great day - thanks to all at Far Coley for their hard work. An excellent but tricky day.

Thanks to James for keeping me company and yet again showing me how it should be done :)

Well done to MFTA on their win.

    Dave.

Just for fun I totted up the top 10 MFTA inters team results and the same for NEFTA. Nine targets seperated them - less than 1 target per shooter. Looks like it will be interesting in 3 weeks time :)

I'll echo everyone elses comments on todays shoot, very demanding without being silly.

Thanks for putting up with me today Dave, I knew I couldn't let my guard down shooting with you, enjoyed the mind games too!

No pictures from me I'm afraid, too much shooting to do.

The Inters are going to be a close run thing I think, and we shouldn't assume that it will be either NEFTA or MFTA that wins (although it will be)!

    Gents....

Was a pleasure to have you all shooting at our ground and pleased that we set up courses that you all enjoyed! Personally would like to thank everyone that came and shot the course, gents one and all, and Val, praise from yourself and shooters of your stature is high praise indeed! :)

Stewart, too right FT is where its at, why we all love it! I didn't shoot a shot all day and still enjoyed myself today, being in the company of likeminded people and receiving a masterclass!! :)

Greg our time will come mate. Steve (Lloyd) and I was talking about this as we marshalled and fetched the course in, and set ourselves the goal of qualifying for the frayed knot, ideally 2010 but 2011 will do! The 3 of us is about the same standard right now so i'm going to extend that to you too if you fancy? As an asside Greg there was 1 thing missing today, big hats shooting, we need to remidy this! :D

    Regard
    Will (with the big hat!)
