So what's the best shooting-related item you've purchased this year?

For me, it would have to be my Viper Connect scope.

    Love that frickin' scope!

I'm quite pleased with my (new to me but second hand) HW97KT with V-mach (sp?) internals.

I only took delivery of it on Thursday, and last night's quick paper punching exercise was its first time out. Five shot group, standing at 20 yards, 23mm centre to centre. :) Promises good things when I am used to it.

    Daystate Mk4

For me it would be a 'new to me' but about 3 year old daystate Mk4 .177 with sporter stock (including custom stock raised cheekpiece mod).

It's not the Info Screen type but just the standard 'beep if you want it to' version.

I have had the HW100 FSB, Hogan Ripley and Air Arms sporters in the past (all .177), but this came up as a swap for a Leupold scope with a guy who was selling his air rifles and getting into rimfire.

I have always been slightly cynical about daystates with their electrictrickery even though a few friends have owned them, but this thing is a revelation:cool:

Its a pleasure to hold, the balance is great, the quality of materials excellent, the trigger is sublime and is very pointable. Married with a proper hunting style 2-7x33 scope and it is a joy to use.

By far the best airgun sporter ever made in my opinion and I have swapped it for my EV2 to shoot HFT, with no drop in scores and quite possibly they are starting to improve slightly.
