Cracking day at Dartmoor Marksmen today.

Rob will be putting the scores up in due course. In the meantime, congrats to Neil Rogers (top score with 34), Amanda Smith, Dave Nash and Nigel Palmer for taking the four Showdown places from this round.

Nigel and I tied on 30 but I had four eliminators and he was one of only two shooters to get all five eliminators today and pipped me to the place. Still, he can't do it again this year..........:shot::shot:

Cheers to all the swefta and DM crew for what I found a very tough shoot. No shade meant the march was baked and duly shifted it's usual amount, but we saw temps 30+ on the strips before getting onto the course. Heat haze made rangefinding a task, combined with several 50+ targets and testing positionals, and the ever present Dartmoor breeze. Well done to all for a thoroughly testing but enjoyable day.

Your Pentathlon idea sounds like a good laugh Rich :)

Well done Neil and the rest of the South Dorset crew, wish I'd been there but alas no lift and no gun. Still we've got a nice set of steps to climb up onto the course now.

Thanks to everyone at DM for an excellent day, it was a lovely sunny day, so thanks to the Met office for yet another pathetic guess at the weather!:D
It was a tricky shoot and great fun and nice to see signs out on the roads to guide everyone in.
The pistol speed shoot was particularly good fun and made a nice change. In fact, I got carried away and bought my first CO2 pistol. And congratulations must go to Neil Rogers for his win, but also to Graham Noyce for his best ever comp score, well done! now leave your kit alone!!

    All the best,

    Alec.

Yes, must mention special thanks to Graham as well for marshalling myself and helen as we were late getting onto the lanes.

Temp on my scope read 82/28 at the end of the course... good training for italy!

Sadly no pics from me Si... forgot camera and i think we would have been too late. I hope to be able to do some at South Dorset.

Rod, will it be a 40 or 50 shot course at ours?

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a "Pool Shoot"?

Chuck some cash in a hat and the highest scorer wins the 'pool' perhaps?
