If it comes to pass, would a couple / few of us from Tondu (Wafta) be able to shoot S.Devon on March 28th?
May be looking for a day out!

    Thanks

    Simon

Simon, maybe the thing to do is to chat to Lloyd Gray, he is the SWEFTA comp sec for this year and SDEV happens to be his home club.

If you email me or PM me I'll pass you his phone number, I won't put it on open forum.

I contacted Lloyd on your behalf and he came back this morning with an email which reads:

    Hi Rich

I have a copy here of an E Mail Kevin [Jackman] has sent confirming that they would be very welcome at S. Devon.

    Thanks Rich

    Regards Lloyd

SWEFTA also has Buckley Wood league shoot on the last Sunday of this month. Quicker to get to than SDEV from your direction.

Work is the curse of the drinking classes......:(

Work gets in the way of play!

I gave up being told when to work 15 years ago when I left my job as a stock controller in Tesco and became a Motocross & Wedding photographer ( I like the diversity!)
Trouble is i only work 2 days a week now, Saturdays and sundays usually lol! You cant win! Saying that I have decided to do Gp1 and take the day off work.

I only have two free sundays between now and the end of summer, the other is May 9th which is the Mendip rd, so if we like the shoot in March and are not banned (!) we may well make another trip South then!

You boys are most welcome to come along at Mendip on the 9th May and not too far to travel, its only just outside Wells in Somerset. Two seperate course's will be open, 40 shot FT and 40 shot HFT. :)
It would be nice to see you Simon.

Yes, due to an unexpected change in circumstances a new venue had to be found and Shebbear Shooters will host this round, instead of South Devon.

Fore those who haven't been to Shebbear before, punch EX21 5HH into your satnav if you have one. If you are coming from up country via Exeter we are a shade under the hour from the end of the M5.

For those without satnav, take the A30 from Exeter westbound and get off at the A386 exit for Tavistock, it's the second of the two exits signposted Okehampton. At the end of the slip road turn right, go under the A30 and follow the A386 back towards Okehampton for about 2 miles. At the small roundabout go left on the A3079 signposted Holsworthy and Bude. This is quite a good road even though it's not dual carriageway; go through the village of Halwill Junction and another 4 or 5 miles brings you to a T junction where the A3079 meets the A3072.

From this point there will be FT fingerboards pointing you in the correct direction.

Go right on the A3072 for about a quarter of a mile, then left by the Bickford Arms pub. Follow this road for five miles in all, going over the river and up the other side of the valley, and IGNORE the signs that say turn left for Shebbear. You will come to a 30 mph limit sign, go over one crossroads and you will soon see the national speed limit sign. The entrance to our ground is on the left, immediately before this sign. Loads of parking space in the field. Park close to the hedge on the right if you can.

At the moment the ground is firm; if we get lots of rain in the next fortnight it will be softer.

Thanks to all at Shebbear today. Nicely varied course with something for everyone. Wind kept us all on our toes and great that the weather stayed dry
