SWEFTA League 2 @ Mendip
Mendip - SWEFTA League 2 on 22nd March 2015
Just over a week now until the SWEFTA League 2 which will be held at Mendip on 22nd March 2015.
ALL ARE WELCOME, and I know a few of the Welsh lads will be joining us for the day.
There will be a 40 shot FT course and a separate 40 shot HFT course, both built to current SWEFTA Rules.
There is a small indoor 30 yard zero range and a full outdoor zero range on site.
Food and drink can be obtained from the Mendip Shooting Ground club house and all booking in will be done from inside there. Male and Female toilets inside the club house.
Open from about 08:00 for booking in and Zeroing etc. but no actual course shooting until 09:00 at the earliest.
Late arrivals will be able to 'feed' onto the course(s), but giving priority to any shooters already on the course. Score cards will be available for purchase up until 12:00 mid-day, and all score cards must be completed and returned before 15:30 at the latest. As per SWEFTA rules, cards handed in after that time will not count.
Hope to see you all then!
Hope it all goes well Tony, sorry but can't make this one,it's the CSFTA End Of Season Shoot.
No probs Chris, see you soon!
Hope to make it going to be an early start
Yes, that's a bit of a bugger... it was on the AGM though to try and dovetail with our neighbouring regions better so lets see what we can do for next season.
I suspect Gadget will be with me sunday.
Hope the wind is a little less "gusty" than last time I was there, even gadget beat me that day!!! lol.
I know the Mendip club is very small in members, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I tonight find myself as the only person from Mendip who will be running this year s SWEFTA event.
Sadly this will be the last competition I intend to organise here at Mendip as it is just too much work for one person alone!
I have worked tirelessly since December getting the two courses ready for this Sunday s event and I would greatly appreciate any help on the day from other SWEFTA members (or my Welsh friends coming over!) helping me with some marshalling and perhaps later in the day with the Stats etc.
The weather forecast looks excellent, dry and sunny all day with just 0-2mph winds!
Hopefully there will be a good turnout and an enjoyable days shooting had by all.
Oh that's a real shame Tony... I can't make this one but it will be a loss. Hopefully someone can carry the torch.
Both courses (FT & HFT) looking tip-top today ready for the SWEFTA League 2 Competition tomorrow.
The weather forecast is still great, sunny and dry all day with just a gentle breeze to keep you all on your toes!
ALL WELCOME, so see you tomorrow for a fun days shooting .... Enjoy!
Have a great day Tony - hope Folk muck in & help You without having to 'ASK' esp.taking course down after & clearing up - we know the Torch feeling @ Fairhurst Estate - there'll be a few more Torches going out before too long about & that could be less courses for Folk to go & shoot
good luck to the buckleywood boys how are shooting today
I would just like to thank all the SWEFTA members (and Gadget from Wales) who supported me by attending the SWEFTA League 2 shoot at Mendip today.
Also big thanks to Steve F, Richard B, Graham M, who helped me out with Marshalling and Tristin H, Paul J and Steve F who relieved me from the Stats so that I could have a shoot, much appreciated
I believe a good time was had by all although some scores were destroyed with the tricky wind conditions and target placement. Just goes to show that long targets are not always needed for a testing course, only 5 over 50 yards today!
Congratulations to Richard Beaugie who won with a score of 37 ex 40.
From memory before I left Stats to shoot, next was:
Simon Evans with 34
and a host of shooters on 32
Again many thanks for your help and support
Well done Tony and team, I was thinking about you all today.
Good to know the Mendip course maintains its reputation.
Thanks to "Mendips"
Firstly, well done to Tony !
Even big clubs suffer with finding willing helpers and from what I am told, this shoot was on the whole put on by Tony.
So, from one very greatfull shooter, Thank You.
If the "club" (not sure how many that is?) needs help to stage the shoot in 2016, I for one will help out all being well and I am sure there would be others.
I don't even mind the fact you put out one of them super hard to hit 23 yard standers!
Mendips is an excellent "compact" course. The angles between the lanes always have you on your toes, or like me you will get caught out by the wind coming off the lower pond !
Very enjoyable day and Well done to Rich. (Wafta for the Inters!) [ Not Gadget though lol ]
I second that. Well done Tony for putting on a really enjoyable and testing shoot. Targets were faultless, wind was unreadable in places and I got lucky
A number of shooters have promised help and support for the future and I am confident that you will be able to rely on them for help Tony
Thanks for the messages of support. I just may take people up on that offer of help in 2016!
Good to see the support there, hope to make it down there again
have to say the shoot was very good. The work tony and others had done came through with the way the targets looked and worked. Well done Mendip and I will help next year to keep the standard as high as you have it now. " as long as I can get a ride to the field".
