Hello all, just bought a s/h lg110 hp, possibly thought it could take me to the next level in hft over my s400:D

I'm not sure if my expectations were to high tbh, only shot 3 rounds with it and never really had good zeroing conditions, have tried a variety of pellets over the chrono with some sh!te results, mozzies gave me the tightest spread then daystate, then jsb, trouble is i've just bought 5000 jsb 4.53 that my s400 loved.

What do you feed yours on and what speed do you run them at?

Any other hints or tips to get the most from this gun.

    atvb jay.

Anyone want to buy some 4.53's!

Have tried 4.52 weighed and lubed, getting up to 20fps spread, would you deem this acceptable or would you expect better?

Had it running around 780, As soon as i added lube they started to run quite a bit faster, taking some to the 800 mark, a little to close to the edge for my liking.

Consistancy is what i was expecting for the money that i paid, at the mo i'm not convinced even tho i shot a PB second time out.

I've got one LG110 that prefers 4.53s and another that prefers 4.52s (both running at about 760 fps). Awkward bloody things!;):D

can you turn the power up on the 110s as 760fps with jsbs only works out at about 10.8ftlb

Yes I can, but I don't want to.;) They are more accurate at high ten to low eleven than they are at higher power and it gives me a good margin for error with a change of pellets or a large temp rise.;)
Don't be obsessed with getting power as close to 12 ft.lb as possible. I know that I could probably run at 785-790 without too much potential bother but it's pretty well pointless to do so.;)

Yeh i try to run about 11.5 or just under, I know some people will run at 795-800 which is just under the limit but thats too risky.

i ran mozzies at 10.6-8 for a whole season, and they were fine... windage is hardly affected (negligable amounts, fractions of an inch over windage distances of inches... ie something you won't notice given a shooter's guesstimation of what's correct for the moment)

in fact i'm seriously looking at lowering the speed on one of my guns back down to around 11.0, got a sneaking suspicion that either the hammer runs more consistently or the pellets do... just awaiting a nice day to test.

have you tried scrubbing the barrell mate?

I bought mine when it was a year old and found it clover leafed.

I bought a VGF cleaning kit on could authority from a few of the Steyr shooters in the know.
I scrub the barrell after every tin of pellets and it's incredible the difference it made.
Pellets through the same hole at 35yds and at 100yds it produced a 1/4" groups. Running at 11.4 ft/lbs

    I use AA field 4.52's

never had a problem and its as reliable as ever, i just have to keep it out the sun on hot days. Has a real bad problem of creeping over.

But have to admit i was running it at 11.8 in the old days. But try it.
I was shocked at how the first 5-6" of the barrell were actually smooth due to the lead build up.
