Just been onto the Steyr Owners forum to see if there was any new posts and it appears now that you have to enter your name and address to gain access....Does this seem a bit dodgy or is it just me?? Needless to say I haven't entered an address....

It looks to be for the Sales section access only, see:
In order to have the privilege of Sales forum access you MUST complete ALL required fields in your user profile, conditions of access are:

*Name & Address (full):- This must be your permanent address and must be in the UK.
*You must be a regular member and known to others on the forum.
*You must apply to the administrators for access.
*You will be required to have 2 forum members as referees.
*Minimum post count as set by the Admins.

Too bad, I'm in NL, but I wish them good luck to get 2 referees, as not many people have joined there until now. :(
Anyway, happy to be on this forum :)
    regards,
    Rob

I can't access anything, every link just takes me to the user control panel and asks for name and address and no mention of sales section...most odd:confused:
But as you've said STB is the place to be :) Can't really see the need for the SOC when all the info is already available on STB :)

I can't even get that Ray.I've tried logging out and back in but still the same for me, nothing but user control panel requesting name and address.....Even whe Mickey Mouse living at the Cockwell Inn submitted his details:p there was still no access or confirmation email, it just went straight back to the same page:confused:

    Vince,
If you want I'll put a post up saying you are having problems. I presume your login name is the same.

No problem for me entering site, but I do stay logged in. Latest post Wednesday 19th. There isn't a sales section at present.

If you go to "user control panel" , tab "usergroups" you will see that there is a Sales Access section (default not selected), but you have to apply to forum control for that to gain access.
It is an open group, but in order to gain access to that sales section the above mentioned rules apply :(
Given the amount of posts and current members, I doubt it there is something for sale there
But, as stated before, why go there if all you need is here....?
Don't get me wrong, I am a real Steyr freak, but the choosen way for setting up the SOC this way is not correct imho..

STB, great forum, keep up the good work :)

    regards,
    Rob, from outside the UK
