    Hi
I am about to buy the above, I believe it is the 2010 short barrel model for which I have a few questions.

Is it better to get a 2014 or is the 2010 SB still good?
Where could I get a moderator?
Are there any known issues with 2010 I need to sort before it is competitive?
How many shots to run in the barrel?
To clean or not to clean?
    What are the favoured pellets

    Thanks

    Sean

you can buy a longer barrel for the earlier model and save some dosh . this seems to be the best bit of 2014 model . £ 365 posted fro harry preston . cleaning , i have two , one likes to be clean . one does not . suck it and see . the complicated bit is if it likes solvent or just one or two clean patchers through it .gotta try em all . pellets start with air arms 8.4s in 4,52 . my mate uses 7.9 air arms and does well with em . say's they take the same trajectory as the 8.4s , so no fiddling with settings . no expert on these models , so don't know what is fitted to each . but make sure they have , external power adjuster , black transfer port and roller bearing cocking pivot . like the man says conner is the man to speak to ??? HOLLY:)

And I'll throw Chris Cundey's name into the mix. You could certainly do a kot worse than have a chat with him re Steyr's.

John does not have a Styer barrel. Its a game of patience, different barrels different pellets different cleaning
Regimes , find the right balance and you will have a great rifle, Dont worry about fps varients, if its within 15 fps , don't worry.

I think you will find JC has a Steyr Barley Twist barrel fitted to his latest Steyr FT110. ;):)

    For the record.

If the John you refer to is ( John Cozzie) , he has 4 Steyr barrels and shoots with a Steyr barrel.
The patience game , our thoughts exactly, plus we match a chassis to a barrel.

Thanks for the info and the private messages.
I decided to get a 2014 in the end.
Initial response was amazing at 25-30 yes but started spraying with exacts at 55.
Changed to express and put 20 into a five pence piece at 60yds, I think I have found the barrel/pellet I will be using.
    Testing at Castle tomorrow hopefully.
