    Hello All,

I have a LG100 and for the last few months it has been great, it is fairly accurate, (not quite as good as my Mk3) but it is very robust and suites my style of shooting.

However, Since two weeks ago my scores have plummeted, I have gone from shooting regular 55s and 56s to a 44 on Saturday and a 50 on Sunday.

I have been on a windless range today and my pellets are going high, low, left and right and I can group to about 2" at 40 yards.

I have cleaned the barrel and re-leaded it, I have tried three different scopes, I have made sure that the barrel is tight and I have shot a 40 shot string on the chrono and it had a 6fps variance.

    Any ideas?

    Gary

i no all my steyrs love express mozzies matey, seems strange that its going over the chrono fine, how many strings hav the done over a chrono do a charge over it,may be the old type firing valve sticking which they changed for 110s,but if it goes over the chrono ok less than 10fps it can only be pellets

Look at your breech seal, often crap gets transferred from your thumb to barrel, then barrel to breech seal. You'd be surprised how much crud can build up here and the effect it can have. Ping it out, have a clean up and retry :)

If it's not pellets have a look at the stabilizer & see if it's working, I just had a similar problem & I think it was that as it's back pellet on pellet now..
I suggest you don't take it apart unless you are really desperate though as there are lots of bits to loose..... Speak to Dopper he talked me through fixing mine.

I assume your barrel is free floated Gary, have a look round the chassis front support and see if you can see daylight round it. If the barrel is touching every time you apply pressure to the stock/ grip you will press on the barrel causing this kind of effect.
If it's not free floated, then do it geezer:D Unless you are going to wear a gimp jacket and shoot indoor 10m with it:p:D

Failing that, as mentioned faulty stabilizer, maybe one spring of 3 missing or jammed up, faulty loading port seal or reg going down.
    Also gunged up hammer assembly.
    Take your pick dude:D

Even when I was going through that bad patch last year it was never that bad, perhaps the gun does not suit you Gary or you've bashed it against a tree or your getting parralax error or its a dodgy breach seal or trigger needs adjusting. ;):D

Or your just crap and getting the excuses in early :D:D:D:D:D:D

    Temperature?

I'm convinced my Stabilizers travel changes with the temperature!

Gary, how did you clean your barrel?

I had this with mine was a nightmare, cleaned the barrel and it turned into a sawn off, spoke to a learnedfriend and was advised to use Lupus grease (not at home so dont quote me on that) afterwards after that it was back perfect.
