Hi all just thought i would share with you my experience so far with my Steyr about a month ago i purchased second hand the above fore mentioned rifle it was in very good condition and shot very well for me i only go to my local range and plink at 30 - 50 yrds then i joined the forum and got talking to a few members on here about accuracy and so forth Phil (Hmangphilly) on here was very helpfull he sent me spare o rings and parts for the rifle and suggested to get to know the rifle by stripping down and working on it myself so i took is advice and glad i did before i stripped it it was running at 14 - 19 ft extreme spread and 11.60 ft per lb velocity using Jsb exacts 8.44 4.52 hd 790 i stripped it down and replaced hammer spring stoning both ends of spring i also replaced stabiliser spring grub screw and split washer re moved barrel and gave it a good clean and replaced all o rings it was rewarding to do my own service and now i have gained a little experience in what makes the rifle tick when i started to rebuild the rifle i set the trigger up and stabiliser has shown on video and also free floated the barrel also replaced little nylon washer under transfer port and set that up the way Phil said went to the range and what a difference i was gob smacked at the accuracy thanks Phil.

Nice. We did some work on mine and the chrono string was transformed. I want to see if I can do a long string and see how good it is over that. No reason it shouldn't be.

Just to add I’ve found the Express 7.9grn most accurate 800-805fps

    No Goniry
I meant the express are most accurate at 800fps, I’ve found Express and Exact to be identical grouping wise with decent batches, it’s just down to barrel preference.

Anthony, if I were you, I would contact Chris Cundy on this forum and book it in for a service, it would be well worth it;)
