Can anyone help with some advise please.

I have a Steyr Hunting 5 .177 up for sale on another forum.
Someone said they prefer the shorter version.
The scout has a 13cm shorter barrel and the air cylinder is shorter.

Not sure if my black quick fill cylinder could be shortened, or I just buy a replacement and sell the original. (I know that would be the easy part)

Who could shorten my black barrel quickly and possibly put a thread on the end for a muzzle break or silencer.

Don't want to wait 3 months before someone could look at it, all that time having my gun. As I was quoted from a gunsmith in the Worcester area.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Hi Nick,

Yes you can shorten the cylinders and barrel, I had my LG110 long version shortened in stead of selling it and buying a standard length one. It's now a tiny bit longer than the standard but much better balanced than the long version, the shot counts still very good as its longer than a standard.

Try Mick Trowmans, Sedgley Ti on here, as the name suggests, he's based in Sedgley, so just round Ocker Bonk from you...
Does cracking work, he can make and shorten cylinders and add a quick fill.

Mick did the work on mine, cut the chassis, cylinder and barrel down and made a new cone. I'd certainly recommend Micks work, just found a photo of it now

Nick, are you converting and making the H5 shorter just to sell on or keep yourself?

    To be perfectly honest

    I don't really know.

Not sold it yet, and not spoken with Mike.

    Update

    Spoken to Mick.
Dropped the Steyr off on Monday.
Collected on the way home from work tonight.
(It's less than a mile away from my route home)

    Nice chap.
    Very pleased with his work.

Gun looks and feels so much better in the Scout spec.
    Happy ending.

    Thank you.
