Hey chaps, what would be involved in changing calibre?

As I see it I would need the barrel from Walther and then get the hammer/power etc reset and rebalanced.

    Is it that simple?

I have just acquired a .177 and would like to up to a .20.

From what I could see it was just a case of a new Barrel and then getting the power and balance in the hammer re set.

    Yup, for hunting.

    How come no pellets?
I used target trophy in my rapid .20 with great results.

    I don't like the 16 grain plus for .22.

Speed and trajectory is my bag, with a little more damage than a .177

just use jsb heavy in 1.77 matey or bisley mags they put rabbits down and all u hav to do is alter power on the gun to suit the pellet, hav u ever shot paper to check groups with trophy pellets they no way as tight as 177 groups u will get etc,177 with 10 grain pellets are wicked for this and still hav a flatter flight than .20 etc

Cheers Chris, yes I have shot paper and you are right. The groups arnt as good but they were good enough for hunting.
Now I have aSteyr I am over the bloody moon with it. A bit loud, but no silencer fitted yet.

So which would you recommend the bus mags or the heavies?

Using air arms field it's stupidly accurate out to the longest I've shot it up to now, which is 45 yards. One holers.

Had my barrel aligned by one of the guys who looks after the rivvy rifles team guns.

Any and all hints, trios, and tricks for the Steyr appreciated.

The Jsb 10.3gn Exact heavy .177 is an awsome pellet, very high bc, take very little wind and retains power very well. I used these the year i won the Daystate midland hunter series through a BSA barrel.
With Jsb making .177 pelles right upto 13.4gn and .22 pellets down to 13.4gn there is little point in .20 these days. no gap left to fill.

Thank you for the advice thus far Chris, here's something a little more important.

A friend of mine is off down the shop to order a Steyr Hunter 5 in .20. For Hunting.

I take it you would advise against this and suggest which one a .177 or .22?

I have watched the .22 vids on YouTube and the accuracy for both is awesome.

I have been told to keep the barrel clean, every 100 shots I was told to give it a pull through. Seemed a little excessive to me that, what do you guys recommend?

Just phoned my mate and he is stuck now lol

Doesn't know if to go .177 or .22 for the Hunter 5.

Wow, I have received my JSB Heavis this morning and what a pellet.
These are now my number 1 choice.
Up at AIR and single hole groups at 43 yard.
