Nice job all round. Get a photo of the action + scope set up in it though? I hope this one serves you better than the last. Will try and catch up over xmas, I`ll shpow you my new one if you show me yours
stock thanks simon .. not everyones cup of tea but i like it . i will build the gun over xmas and put some more pics up . got a few new bits to bolt on . i am sure i will get on with this as i spent a fair bit of time in the build process with steve . catch up over xmas
Guinea pig Well Mike, Now I can see yours has come out good from the lads at Hydrographics, might be time to send mine up there for what I want. With my black action in the ideas I got I think will look nice... Fair play Mike, the stock looks superb. As youve said you have had some involvement in the stock being built it will fit you. Trust me.... Berty
stock thanks mark .i am chuffed the way it has come out . i have already spoken to tom at hydrograhics . big thanks to him for putting up with me my alutec is going up there after xmas and when i have my hunter stock of steve i will be having that done in realtree silver with green overlay atb mike
Stock Simon, The colour I like for the undercoat is white. Chris Large's stock on his green Zenith is the style/design I like. I think a white/realtree stock with a black action would look stunning. Im glad the scallops etc on Mikes stock came out well. At least I now know mine will be fine when I have mine dipped... Berty
stock finish Hi mike Is your stock finish glossy or the rubbery vertion? Had a look at a pro target with the rubber texture and was very impressed. Also what was the original timber that your stock was made from? rgds simon
Hi Simon, Mike picked up a cheap railway sleeper from myself a while ago, Steve worked hard to smooth off the rough and Hydro covered it all up, not bad for a £20 bit of wood
very nice stock mate looks the dogs danglys steve's done a very nice job and with the hydrographics finish u gonna have to keep some tissues with you to wipe off the dribble next time your out shooting it lol
stock your not far off there doz . the wood was walnut and for a rather cheap bit the grain was mega . then i had a brainwave to have it dipped
Blank of wood Has to be said though Mike, The piece of wood it was made out of was damn nice, plenty of grain etc. The wood Steve is getting in is just spot on my hft stock is out of a similar peice and it looks lovely. I got to get my arse into gear and start sanding it down and finishing it to get it ready for use. Were going down to see the Lanyman family straight after Xmas for a day or 2 so will take it with me to get most of the work done on it. Looking forward to seeing them over xmas it has to be said. Havent seen them for a while and hopefully if the Rottweiller isnt chewing someones leg off might see old DHAT as well... Berty
stock as soon as steve gives me the heads up i will be going up there again to sort my hft stock out will be along the same line as my new one but the cheek piece will be flatter . i have jsu finished turning the adjusters for the cheek piece and butt hook so i will be building the gun tonight -- hopefully perhaps after xmas we could do a joint vist to steves.and have a romantic night in the caravan bring little jack
Plan Mike, That sounds like a plan fella. It is always great to go upto see the family as they are fantastic people. Berty
Pity i did not have my camera on me today as seeing this stock in the flesh, I have to say this is the nicest Real tree camo stock i have seen. Really makes it a nice ft stock and the action is one of if not the nicest and most "dead" Walter I have shot. Did a sub 15 ml group at 55 yards with little effort. Very nice Gun in a very nice stock. Now get it away from the Chronograph and point it at knockdowns this season May well have made up my mind about my Next Evo stock!
May well have made up my mind about my Next Evo stock![/QUOTE] Well Simon, You were told to speak to Steve from the start fella. Caney's stocks do look damn good though fella. Berty
Its the realtree bit that convinced me though, you can take a plain-ish (not that I would know what mikes blank was like before dipping?) bit of plank and end up with a very nice looking custom stock. Weigh up the options when the time comes?
