Coming home from the Welsh Masters yesterday I was going over the donuts with my two mates in the car and I commented that how on earth one of them had a donut on the cobweb as even in that wind it was huge. They both said that this can happen as the holes are large enough to go through them thus the donut. Now, not being 100% here I don't know if I hit it or not as even though I didn't drop it I don't recall hearing a dink (even in that wind). I just suspected that it had to be a hit due to the size of the plate and told my partner "just a one" for the 19th time

What do I do? happy to drop a point if it makes sense that it went through a hole. Bloody unlucky if that's the case. Any idea's just in case it ever happens again.

I don't think you can buy a spider's web target, you'll need to make one ;)

I think the spiders web targets are a cause of much argument. Some people claim to have clipped the edge of some part of it. If you don't hear a loud dink and give a zero, there is no end of tension between shooting partners for the remainder of the shooting session. I think all targets should be solid flat plate.

Ed the time you take for a shot the web could grow back;)

If your shooting partner/partners are doing the job properly then there should be no confusion also the spider web target no different from a head shot with 10mm around.

Mike will confirm I had a lucky 1 on a head shot out on the max in wind yet we both heard the slightest of dinks:eek:o

I too think the plates should be all solid. Unlike an head shot duck with 10mm around the kill where you are either going to hit or miss, the spiders web does introduce an element of luck where what would on a 10mm plate have been a miss becomes a luck of the draw 1 point or a zero. A nice novelty target but not one I like to see in a comp where a lucky 1 point or an unlucky zero can make a difference to the result.

I get so much stick, yet the people on the next peg holding everyone up seem to merrily waltz away. Last year in the World's I got shouted at, yet there was nobody at the two pegs behind! I reckon someone just likes kicking my butt.
OK in this case, unfortunately, not all shooting partners are equal. I sometimes think some of them are deaf!
It can be hard to tell whether one clips the edge of a bit of spider target or hit a bit wood just behind.
I really don't like these targets, mostly because of the uncertainty it can cause.

Spiders web targets, on a windy day.

PERFECT excuse for crap shots (me) in the event of a doughnut.

We should have more of the bloody things ;)

Always suprised me you dont get the web as 20mm KZ or smaller , these targets are by far the biggest you ever see on a course its a range trap on its own, ! especially if its elevated ,gotta admit they scare me the time they take to fall
