Southern Hunter Results Round 1: Bisley

Well, what a fantastic start to the season, The weather stayed nice, the course was fantastic and people turned out in their masses. I would like to thank Paul Macey and the Bisley team for putting on a really great course, clearly, a lot of thought went into the planning and set up. A few peoples scores have been altered as a target was unfortunately pulled, so i have adjusted them accordingly - lucky for Mike Isaac who got a refund on the donut he bought on peg 17

Big thanks also to the guys who volunteered to marshall but most of all to Sarah and Sue for wading through the booking in and badge sales - i think the paperwork is in the best order it has ever been.

Yup was a fantastic day and Daniel got bumped from a bronze to a silver on the recount so he will be over the moon when he gets in from school and finds out!

He was quite disappointed Nick as he thought we were shooting round in a 3, he didn't realise it was 2 per peg... if he could I think he'd have dumped his old dad and asked you to shoot round with him ;):D

Quick Question Why was it 2 to a peg in the first round ????
Meaning that lots of us had to wait around for most of the day.

Allways has been Derek IIRC. It's only the 2nd round they usually put 3's in to accomodate those who are left over.
I'm sure Mark can clarify this though.

I am in total agreement with your having to wait around for most of the day. I arrived at Bisley around 8am and joined the booking in queue. I and many more people who were in front of me missed the first round.

I know of four people who couldn't stay for the afternoon shoot so had to go home after missing the morning session.

Would it not be a good idea to have a booking in session like the UKHFT where people pre-book and know then as to whether they're shooting in the morning or afternoon?

I also overheard a conversation while waiting to book in that some people had been turned away from a second session from a previous shoot as they limited to only 90 people maximum. I can not believe this would be true?

Apart from a very long day it was an excellent course, thoroughly enjoyed it - Thanks to Bisley and Southern Hunters, well done.

Think it needs to be looked at
We also consider going home but after driving so far we decided to stand about for 4. 1/2 hours

pleased we did as it was a grate shoot.:D

Almost finished off one of our group, as he has a back problem.

Sorry no response from the organisers ( unless Steve is now one of them);)

Its the tried and tested formula Derek, hard but true.

More to the point though don't you think its great for HFT that a regional Series is attracting so many people to compete.

The organisers must be doing an awful lot right to be getting this sort of support.

My hat goes off to them.

Well done to Mark and his crew.
