    Re the Sightron

    Hi Steve ,
thats a very interesting question. I dont know of anybody that has used one in FT (I stand to be corrected , which would be great). But John and I were looking at this scope as an option for FT a couple of months ago but it just drifted away due to many other things . However our thoughts were that this scope with a Mil -Hash ret would be the bang on the money. It would be good to here any further thoughts you have about this post.
    Regards G.

I used to own one of of these and didnt like it. I think it was because I was to used to the sidewheel. However, as scopes go the optics were fantastic.
If I remember correctly the gaps at the longer ranges were very small so you couldn't tell yard for yard but it snapped in very, very well indeed. I did nearly reparralax it but I had a buyer for it so struck while the iron was hot. But I would think that the gaps could be opened up a little

    Hi Jack,
why did you want to reparralax it , I presume it didnt come down far enough ,what did it come down to out of the box.

    Thanks G.

Come down to 10 yards out of the box. But the gaps needed to be bigger in my opinion so wondered if it would work it by reparralaxing it but as I say I never got around to it...

24 magnification is inadequate for effective and consistent ragefinding.

    Hi

Dont know what sort of budget you have but opticswarehouse have new 4200 elite 8-32x40 in stock.
Bri Samson on here does a nice 3D printed large target turret for them as well, for about £6.
The only down side is you can only get them with the multi X ret now & I have not found anyone who can change them to mill-dot, not even Bushnell or any of thier agents.

I had one on my TX untill the weekend. Just replaced it with an old Burris signature that I found sat in a gunsmiths when I was on holiday last week.

IMO 32 but it depends on the scope. Perhaps 36 :)

I have one sightron SII 36x42. This scope has excellent optics for the value. In my opinion the reticule and the Parallax adjustment isn't the best for the pratice of FT. This scope is most suited for benchrest.
