Hi well Im new on this forum, but I have been shooting guns of all types over 30+ years and tried many scopes. but ive gone and got the hawk sidewinder 8-32X56IR 20X ive not got the gun for it yet but I got it now as it was going cheap.ive been using my mates HW100s with one on it. Im just now thinking it may be a bit to much as I don't shoot over 55 yds much but have done 60yds or more once or twice the only thing I got it for really is the recticle half mil dot its the best ive seen up to now. Is there a smaller scope with the same half mil dot where it is from side to side of the scope tube, not like the 10x one that hawk do. I would like it in blue.but you cant have your cake!! is this scope a bit over the top? For air rifle use.

Not really over the top, most Ft'rs have 50+ mag scopes.

when you get yourself a rifle to put it on, give it a while and you may well be looking for something bigger;)

    In a word Phill...No.
It's a good scope and designed for use on an airgun.
Got one myself in fact sitting on top of my AR20 and love it.

Holds zero no dialing in and looks nice in the matt black :)

Stick with it is my advice.

    20x Mildot Ret.

The Hawke Tac 30 6.5-24x42 has the same ret as your Sidewinder (the 20x one) look on Hawkes web site for the whole range and specifications.:)
