Ever since I was 4yrs old I've always shot and fished and it never ceases to amaze me how many people within shooting fish as well. It seems shooting and fishing go hand in hand. In many aspects, hunting especially, they are similar in that knowledge of your prey and equipment is vital as is patience and the love of the outdoors. So the question is do you fish as well as shoot and what came first?:)
    All the best

Just shoot mate.......fishing has always been one of those things that I thought should I try then not bothered with.
If you're the outdoor type I can understand why some enjoy it though.

Mikey and vin go fishing quite often which I sometimes join them apart from I seem to catch coots!! (there is no way I'm joining u tomorrow it's too cold!!)

But i do enjoy going with them both as they have both taught me how to fish.. Plus they are both competitive with it which is funny !

I was quite late into both, started fishing when I was 12 and the shooting when I joined the air cadets at 13. Shooting is the main thing for me now but I do still like fishing, just don't really have the time these days

I used to go fishing with my dad when I was about 8 or 9 every weekend, both sea and course fishing. I caught more colds that I did fish:)

Although Vin has promised to take me fishing again soon, so am looking forward to that.

    odd man out

when i was young my brothers and my mates all went fishing but i have to admit that i never ' got it ' . i mean you spend all that time and effort only to put it back again and start all over.

next you'll be taking loads of time and effort to knock over a target only to put it back up again

    ' errrr hold on a minute' :D

Certainly will...though i think it may be wise to wait for the warmer weather, its a bit nippy out at the moment:D:D
Its good to see how many people enjoy wetting a line as much as pulling a trigger:) Finding the balance of enjoying both can be tricky at times though. In 2008 i think i manged to get out fishing 2 maybe 3 times but was shooting every weekend and a day midweek practicing. This year I eased off the shooting a little and have found a nice balance and hope to keep it that way and keep enjoying both sports to the max:)

    Cold and bleak.....

I shot and fished at the same time and i am not good at either. My Wife and i were lucky enough to chase the Marlin around for a bit , cost thousands, and never saw one. Next year we went away and caught three, one black two stripped.I love fishing be it at a lake freeeezing or in the deep blue sea. I cant do either well that is shooting and fishing...not the Wife:)) but love them both the same. For my 45 birthday ( assuming iam still here ) i want to go to the Sea or Cortez ( not sure if it correct spelling ) off Baha and go for Marlin there. I reckon that would be a nice place to go and some good good fishing. I have a mate that swears by Bora Bora for fishing ...i would love that....but think i might stick with the Stour:)

Caught on a Smelt deadbait Glynn. Basic running ledger with a 24inch trace...very simple stuff compared to when I'm carping but very effective:)
