    Hi all,

We had some server problems over the weekend as you may have noticed. One of the hard drives at the hosts started to regrade and the hosts had to do an emergency upgrade which took longer than expected.

It looks like there was some corruption in the database, so far it seems that my old account has been deleted. hence the new one. Once things have settled down with the host, i'll attempt to join to the two so it looks as before.

So if you need to contact me, please use this account.

The server may be slow this week while they restore their backups back across their drives.

The good news is that the worst case scenario is that we have a backup from friday, however we hope that any damage is minimal and been repaired.

If you do experience any problems or oddness, please let me know, ideally by copying and pasting the error message into an email.

    Cheers

    Rob

There are some on going speed issues, as the host is restoring data back across their system. This is causing error messages now and then.

If the server is down, there's probably little benefit in trying for 10 mins or so.

This slowness may prevail for a couple of days, but should be over then.

Ok, host has just said that they've completed the offload. I'm still getting the occaisional error, but the instances are getting less and less and the board feels faster...

But feel free to let me know if anything crops up

Oh, and i'm back to RobF now :D

Ok, i've just had a barrel load of errors come in, so i think it's still under load, but i'm not getting them myself personally, so just try hitting refresh if you see them

Ok, there has been a tweak on the server, and I haven't seen an error.

To me everything is very zippy and no errors. Hope it's the same for you :)

    Cheers Jon.

It seems there's bursts of errors lasting for 10-20 mins, then all is fine. Flagged it up with the host, as they reckoned all should be well.

The drive is being rebuilt on the main server, so once that's done in a couple of days we should be moved back and the problem gone.

Twiddled a few settings here and there on host side and this... haven't seen an error for 30 mins now... compared to the 150 i've seen tonight.

Ok, obviously it went bang in a major way last night.

The hosts fixed the 2nd hard drive that failed on the backup machine.

Since that I'm not seeing any errors here, but the board does seem to be running a little slow... that should change back to usual speed once we go back on the rebuilt machine next week.

Looks like the host has completed the repairs, and the board seems quite zippy to me.

Let me know if there are any more problems :)

Just done a few tweaks under the bonnet, should be a bit nippier, especially when looking at attachments...

As ever, if anyone notices something going odd, let me know :)

Yep, hasn't escaped my attention. Host appears to be off somewhere, got his personal mobile, but going to answerphone.

    Tickets and messages open.

    Seems better today...

Will shift it if it doesn't improve, and he'll be getting told that.
