Hi Gents, Im new to the forum, but it looks like a pretty good setup here.

I've been out of touch with Field Target shooting for a few years now, and I'm after some help and advice with selling my old target rifle.

Firstly, it seems like a few laws have changed while Ive been away, such as no mail order air rifle shopping anymore, am I still able to sell my rifle privately?

Secondly, as the title of the thread suggests, I'm looking to sell my Walther Dominator, its the Alutec model, with a Tasco Custom shop 8-40x56 Scope, and also a 300bar charging kit for it. I don't really know where to start with the pricing of it, but its a great bit of kit, I just don't have the time to use it anymore. I can post pictures if anyone wants, but I think most of you will be familiar with it.

Hoping somebody is interested, it's a real shame to just have it sitting here.

    Ben.

Hi Ben, welcome to the forum mate. To give you an idea of price I paid a grand earlier on this year for a Dommie in a custom stock, spare alutec stock, big nikko, dive bottle, bean bag and hard case. The mail order ban only counts for new rifle sales so second hand guns are unaffected.

Hope that helps a litte? Are you sure you don't want to keep it and start up shooting again?

    Ryan

Hi Ryan, thanks for the info, its what I needed, and sounds like a realistic price.

I've been away from the shooting for a few years whilst I was in the army, which unfortunately gave me more of a taste for full bore, and a very different style of shooting. I don't really have the time or passion to properly get back into the FT now, and as I said, its the dommie needs someone who's going to get some good use out of it.

Glad it helped Ben, Walthers seem to be well in vogue at the minute so I don't think you'll have an issue selling it.;):)

    Welcome on board :)

Yep, private sales don't have to be face to face, just to over 18's only :)

I don't think you should have a problem selling it, as Ryan said, Walthers are quite popular these days :)

After looking around, and a few helpful comments, I'm looking for around £1300 for the gun and the scope, not sure how much the charging gear is worth, but I know theres not much point having the gun without being able to charge it up to the full 300 bar.

Is this an unrealistic price? Or about right? Got a few offers in already, so thanks for the interest so far.

Ok, I have been informed that my Dominator has a Mk 1 reg, which I know will affect the price, however, it is still in immaculate condition, and with a new reg would be a fantastic rifle for somebody. The scope and charging gear are still available for offers, as is the gun if more people are interested.

Please get in touch if you would like any further information.

18 months ago new guns weren't £1200! I bought a reg in March for 120 from churchleys. I'm not selling any of my spares, better investment than the banks at the minute!

Ryan I rang Bill this morning at Churchleys they said they don't deal with stuff like that anymore(his words)
But if I could wait for 3/4 months or so they might be able to get one for £278+vat.how times have changed.

Jeez thats a serious amount of cash .... plus VAT

Can I just ask , what were the issues with the old ' original reg ' and does it need doing to enable it to run consistently ?

    cheers

    Dave
