There were a few scorecards at the weekend that alterations weren t signed and we had to deduct points off a few shooters, please remember although you don t mark your own scorecard and may not be your fault, double check at the end of the shoot with your shooting partners. From the rules Only a member of your shooting group is permitted to record your scores on your scorecard. Under no circumstance is a shooter allowed to score his/her own scorecard. If an error is entered on any scorecard you must seek a marshal who will amend this error for you & sign the back of the card. If a competitor hands in a scorecard that is incomplete, unreadable or has any alterations not signed for by an on duty marshal their score will be amended or the competitor disqualified at the UKAHFT organisers discretion. Pete
Pete, When marking a card as a marshall, is initialling the change sufficient or should the marshal sign the back of the card as well? Neal
It would also help if you put on the back which score you have changed & what you have changed it too, please make your signatures legible too
Its a shame really as Pete and myself had to deduct a few points as obviously some 1's had been turned into 2's with no initials, as UKAHFT has quite a few new comers entering the series Pete has decided that this should now be explained in the safety speech which everyone should attend. (Not everyone alteration was by a newby ) Jane
I think to be honest the points are hard enough to get in the first place let alone getting them deducted for not writing them in, in a decent manner. When i marshal people do ask me to change there scores as they put them in the wrong column or have written the wrong score in... i try and change it and sign it at least. It makes sense to to it this way. I always, initial the front change, then on the back I put, Lane no, change IE 2 - 1 or 1 - 2 etc, and initial again. No one can argue with that.
Much the same as Steve, initial the mistake on the front , and on the back for instance "Stand no 4 should read 2" and initial again regards .....Dave L
