Ive got a hawke 8x32x44 target and its been in the cupboard ,in its box, for about a year so,i decided to try and flog it.got it out and it stuck to my hand ,it has a type of rubberised paint finnish and the bloody stuff is melting , has any one else had a similar problem or,is it just my lousy luck again:
Same problem I've got a Deben MilPro - about 7 years old (my first scope, I think) and that did the same a few years ago. Still have it in the "melted condtion". Tried to rub a cloth over it and it was a right mess. DeanB
There were other models that had that horrible rubberised coating. Seen it strip as scope slid through mounts on a 30.06.
I had a Mil Pro and the rubber coating peeled as well, so I stripped the lot and left it in the plain black which was under the coating.
