Had sitting on my rig a nikko targetmaster 10-50-60 in high mounts, anyway got hold of a big nikko excellent condition mk1 took my old scope off placed big nikko in mounts did up screws etc aligned with spirit level on mounts etc. Started zeroing great groups but 10mm under the centre of my aiming point and i have run out of elevation adjustment on the big nikko turret. Did not experience this with my old scope not changed mounts same as they were before in same place. what would be the reason for this is the big nikko elevation adjustment smaller than my previous targetmaster or something else thanks.

Yes looks like adjustments are smaller, and I bet you are at the end of travel too. Way to get round this is to get busy making and fitting plastic shims under one end or the other to slightly tilt the scope, the optimum being zero is in the center of travel both elevation and windage. Personally i use slivers of Nom yoghurt pots but other slivers of plastic can be used.

you could try adjustable mounts if you don't like shimming

    negative,s

If you do decide to go down the shimming route, old negative,s from your holiday snaps will work a treat.

I used the Sportsmatch ATP61 adjustable mounts for my Nikko. Centre scope turrets up and the adjusted the mounts until impact point on at 45yds. I use 45 yards as this is about the centre of the turret movement when adjusting from 55 to 25yds. 20 tp 15 head back towards 45yd dial mark again.
