    thank you sir.

I have seen this pdf . Its primarily for the pm11.
Probably a lot of the features are similar but certainly the turrets on my scope look quite different to these.

I seem to have just under just under 1 full turn of total travel for elevation . increments numbered 1-32 , so centered at 16 by loosening 2 x allen grub screw and moving the knurled knob.

the windage knob is quite different and although I think ive found the centre position, id like to set it at zero but cant figure out how to move the knob .
it has no grub screws just one tiny Phillips on the flat face

Temp shift on the early Ft S&B was pretty bad , and on my one change in light type made a big diffence , I am lead to believe the new s&b ft scopes are better but I would be sitting tight for a while before I put my cash down on another s&b.
At 10deg it ranged 7yards longer than it did at 12 deg:eek:o

Morning Don are you back from your travels? Hope all went well.
I've got my libel rifle now.

    So
What sportsmatch was advising me to do was fit one of these little these little thermometers to my scope so that I can allow for temperature conditions. Right?
Just like you will measure track temps , ambient temps etc when setting up your race cars.
Great tip sportsmatch ... Sorry I was a bit slow.

    Now then
Where on the scope do I fit it ?
    Front, back , tube?

Yes got back at 6.30 this morning :) after a week at 30 plus deg it's a bit of a shock to the system.

?!? If it looks like this:
then simply rotate it by the black edge, one click is 5 mm at 50 metres.
The scope is set to optical centre by factory, optical centre is when elevation is at 16 and windage in the middle of the green range.
The small pointer shows whether you are safe, green means that you can adjust elevation from 0-32 MOA, red means that extreme elevation setting can endanger the inside structure.

    that's the fella!
my windage adjustment is just as the picture ,but on my scope, serial no .340428 the elevation is a more conventional type of turret without the pointy gauge arrangement. it's numbered 1-32 and travels almost a full turn from stop to stop.

my query was how to establish a datum for zero.
    ithink i've figured it out.
in your pics you can see the silver incremented ring between the black knurled grip and the scope body.
this ring also has a little triangle on it and on the other side, a small countersunk dot.
if you put a cocktail stick in the dot (or even if your fingernails are long enough) you can rotate the ring and set the triangle to zero.
I've aligned mine with another small dot at the end of the channel in the main scope body. in your pic that channel is at the 9 'o' clock position. the dot isn't visible in the pic.

the factory obviously know something that I don't as,
I just spent ages trying to establish optical centre by rotating the scope in v blocks and adjusting till the crosshairs were on target regardless at all points of rotation.

this put the windage adjustment significantly out when shooting a target
I had to ignore any markings and just shoot and adjust till the pellets were hitting a vertical line at range of about 30yrd
    and
blow my old boots off ,the little pointer is almost dead on the middle ,so maybe the v block method doesn't work on my scope
