Ok, so I have now tried some HFT - verdict, Love it, even on Sunday morning when it never stopped pi**ing down for the whole course - loved every minute, well almost :D

    So some rule clarifications please:

    - my scope got seriously soaked and I was struggling to see anything, so are you allowed to wipe clean the lenses or is this classed as interfering with the scope

-the foot position for kneeling, I have read the UKAHFT rules which says the foot must be upright, some seem to clarify this and say the foot/ankle should stay at 90 degrees, but others posts seem to say the foot can be flattened and "sat on" as long as its parallel to the leg

    some advice needed please:

reached the end of the course soaked and really struggling to see anything, on checking the rifle when I had finished whilst removing the rifle from the carry bag/mat I had inadvertantly moved the parallax almost a full revolution in, and the zoom from 10x to 14x - derrrrrr - big lesson learned, I need to try to fix them in position :eek:o

Electrical insulation tape is good for locking turrets in place if they move easily, and can be easily removed with no after effect if required.

    Hello Mate,

yes, it is perfectly acceptable to wipe your lenses clean.

and the foot flat is referred to as shooting laces down and is also perfectly acceptable.

    Amazing

Thats amazing it is these two very pieces of information that lead me to ask the question when I first found them.

Robg and Yorkshiretea, the links, to me at least, seem to be at odds, the UKAHFT one says the foot has to be upright the 6mmbr says it can be laces down

Yes but in either position the laces are facing down, donot sit on a turned foot, whether your foot is upright in a traditional stance or flat on the floor as some disjointed flexible people seem to be able to achieve, your laces are still facing the ground.

    Hello Mate,

Trust me on this, Laces down is fine, I was the UKAHFT chief marshal for 3 years and laces down is the way I shoot:D:D:D

Surely one is face down and the other is side ways down, that's how I'd read it otherwise you could argue that even standing up your laces are down, upside down mind :)

    Mmmmm

Not sure about the boots - unless you can get them in real tree :p

I can see the laces down on the floor with the foot parallel to the leg is accepted, so maybe it doesnt matter (especially as that is how I tend to kneel naturally) the reason I questioned it is that the "rules" say the foot should be upright

The laces down seems to be somewhere between sitting on an inturned foot and the foot upright (you are sitting on a foot that is not inturned) - a sort of compromise :)

On the old UKAHFT website, there used to be a pic with foot laces down and a tick (not tic:D) next to it.
I guess the pic got lost in the transfer to the Google site.
But as Gary said in UKAHFT laces down is fine.

The 6mmbr website information is pretty old cos Chris C looks bloody young on there:D:D:D:D
    EDIT: found the foot pics
