I'm still new to it all how do u tell when your regs playing up what's the tell tale sighns
if its ev2 leave 5 mins between shots then chronograph.
if more than 10 to 15fps drop then service is on cards.
or you could be using rubbish pellets.
inconsistency of the power of the rifle is a sign reg problems check over a chronograph
Also the rifle may not group anymore mainly due to power variations etc
From memory is there not a little hole in the reg case that you can put a bit of fairy on to see if it bubbles ?
That works, but it only tells you if the O rings on either the piston or the piston rod are leaking. This usually results in the gun losing air between shoots.
If the reg is suffering from 'creep', then the reg fails to shut off properly and the first shot after a five to ten minute rest is likely to be a different velocity to the next two or three (or however many you want to shoot over the chrono).
That sounds like mine
Does not Castleton have a club Chrono to use or do you not have you own?
Easy to check.
Yeah first it stayed between 7fps but the last time I done it the fps varied a fair bit
Same pellets from the same tin both times?
Variation in velocity can be caused by the reg, but before you have it ripped to bits, do some pellet checks.
Still the same pellets out of the same tin JSB exact 452
Nice clean barrel?
What kind of variation are you seeing over the chrono? And is it the first shot after a break, or is it all the time?
Sorry for all the questions, but stripping the reg from an EV can be a really difficult job, especially if it has never been out before. So, best check all the other variables before you grip that particular thorn.
The barrel is clean about 20 fps difference the first is well low then the numbers are all over the place
Yes, it does sound like the reg is throwing a wobbler.
Bugger ile have to find someone to fix it thanks for that
loads of people on here very good with these.
the suggestions will surely follow........
