    Quarry Today 6/6/10

Great course today, would have made a cracking national. A big thank you to Dirty Del Stone and Pete Underwood for their efforts on the weekend. These guys gave up their time on Saturday to set a 30 shot course and the course was a credit to the pair of you. Well done lads.

Onto the shoot- a truly great course with every shot being a thinker and the wind doing all sorts. You'd have strings blowing left and shots going right and then doing the complete opposite - kept us all guessing and kept the 'bottom twitch factor high':D:D. Evil monkeys, head shot ducks, rhinos, snakes, dragons with all manner of nasty kill zone sizes plus rats in cages , obscured kills etc made this one of the most interesting and challenging Quarry courses for years.

Great fun shooting with Pete and Andrew Underwood today - a thoroughly enjoyable shoot and always a pleasure to see the Chris Twins ( Chris Sutcliffe and Chris Coombes) at Quarry.

Once again - a big thankyou to the course setters and nice to see a few new faces today-hope you enjoyed it.

As a side note- Gwynne the land owner wishes to keep two of his fields clear of targets and shooters until further notice. This is so he can let the grass grow long enough for hay. As a result of this our courses will have to be set out taking Gwynnes wishes into account. This may serve to stop us parking down near the shack to enable us to get maximum usage out of the land that is available to us and ensure the safety of all who shoot at Quarry and prevent damage to their vehicles.
So please dont get upset if your asked to park in the field -this rule will apply to all of us.

Nice write up Mark. that evil monkeys up to something for sure:D Well done to the course setters, I was surprised to arrive early to help and find course setting pixies had made it happen overnight. And what a well set course it was, especially when the wind got up a bit, nice one,
    Will:)

    Thanks for the welcome, Quarry

Will and I ventured across the border to visit Quarry this morning and were met with a warm welcome and a wicked course! Not an easy one for Will's first competition, but a great challenge and to be fair he nailed some targets I missed.

We'll be back as soon as possible and notwithstanding the 130 mile round trip I think this has to be the club we want to join. Great people and plenty of scope to learn about the wind... Thanks Del for taking us round today, and showing us how it should be done.

    Cheers to everyone.

    Martin (and Will)

What a biatch of a course but that said an enjoyable one, again well done to the course setters.. My thanks to Chris Coombs and Chris Sutcliffe for pointing me in the right direction as far as my shooting goes, it’s my wind age and not the range which is where my problem is...And also for pointing out that my gun may be shooting at low power...Thanks to Gary who put my gun through the chrono and discovering my gun was shooting at 735, a trip to Neath gun shop tomorrow and get Dai to uptake it to 777...So all in all not a bad day..

Well what can i say that hasn't already been said, that was a fantastic course and i for one had a great time shooting it,and your right Mark Wally Wall it was a thinker of a course, or should i say a stinker of a course :D.
One big thanks to Del i got a fitness video coming out head band Stone,Pete i made half the target you all shot Underwood and not forgotten Gareth i had to take the boy home Sick James.
And i think the shooting GOD Pete I'm away on Holiday Sparks would have thought the same as us all.
