    Hi All,

I've seen a few people with printed labels on their sidewheels and I just wandered how to do it exactly. Is there any particular reason for doing it or just to look neat?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

    Red

    Hi Red

try Rangesports for the stickers or buy a dymo label machine.
It just looks neat really but if your markings are clear you are less likely to miss-read them in competition.

My method: stick some masking tape around the rim, and mark it off with the distances. Make a register mark on the wheel itself at 55 yards. Now peel the masking tape off.

Stick the tape onto a sheet of paper and place it under your scanner, and scan the image.

Using any graphics package (I use CorelDraw) trace over the scanned image with plain black lines, and type in the yardages by each line.

Remove the underlying scanned image and print your drawing.

Pair of scissors, cut to fit.

Stick the finished strip on the outside of the wheel, aligning with the 55 yard register point (this is why you marked the wheel, earlier).

Waterproof as you like, hey presto job done.

Sounds long winded, but gives a good result. You can save the drawing and if you find you have not got one distance quite right you can easily amend it. You can even type in the number of clicks as well as the yardage and do away with your crib card, so long as you have finalised pellet, velocity, scope height etc.

There was a thread about this posted a week or so agohttp://www.shooting-the-breeze.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26409

I mentioned using Visio which comes with Microsoft Office. I've attached a screen grab of part of my wheel tape file. Once you get the hang of the programme, its a doddle to use and the results are pretty good. Just print onto the Vinyl sticky back paper and cut out as required.

I use the stickers available from Rowan engineering as I find them easier to read than my writing:rolleyes:

I done mine using paint tonight I have posted my old markings and my new printed one on field target on face book. Took some trial and error as when I scanned in my reference it shrunk so had to change size on paint to make fit my reference.

No James, that's only 1 label, S&B users need 7 different labels, one for each day of the week!:D

Yes the pointers are for the change during the SAME day but the 7 tapes will cover each day ;)
