Benchresters come in many shapes and sizes and use a multitude of different manufacturers for their kit. These photos were taken on one of the practice days so both rimfire and airrifles were being used side by side, but ofcourse in the actual comps they were seperated.

See if you can recognise all the airrifles.

If you arrow through a few times it should start the slide show.

    Lots of photos so enjoy.

A prodigious set of photos. :)
And a great event, by the look of it.

It also shows quite clearly the different sets of rules we follow. I think that means it's not really sensible to compare scores from one variant to another.

Great photos Tony, just like yesterday ..... nearly.
Rich, to play the international game, there's only one set of rules and only one target.
That doesn't preclude any individual or group from doing their own thing.
The sport is all inclusive, there just needs to be a common ground when different regions, or nations have a get together.
We've just supplied Bisley with 30 standard benches, so hosting major benchrest events may not be that far away for the UK.
    Here's hoping .......
    Gary.

How do the group sizes stack up with the .22LR vs the .177? Is one considered to be generally more accurate, wind aside?

International benchrest is going to move to 50 yrds only with .22 rimfire as the 25yrd discipline just came down to x's as alot of competitors were shooting 250's.

Indoors a properly set up .177 airrifle can compete against a .22 rimfire rifle over 25yrds interms of accuracy, but only just.
