    On sunday 21st Feb whilst on a holiday in the Swiss Alps Pete met with an accident whilst sking, He was airlifted to the nearest hospital were Pete has found out he has broke 2 vertebrea in his back and 1 in his neck, Pete still has movement in his lower limps so the outcome hopefully will be positive but it will be a slow recovery.As alway happens this was on the last day of his trip :( , Pete has been a regular on the national FT circuit for the past few years and made many friends hense the reason for posting this thread,I know he was looking forward to the coming season which obviously is now on hold. Hopefully pete will be transfered back to england soon then we can find out the full extent of the injuries and timescale to get him back shooting, All at East Devon FTC wish you the speediest of recoveries mate, see you when you get back.

    I bet that crazy b'stard is driving the nurses nuts already with his sense of humour, I'm sure they'll push for him to be flown back home as soon as possible even if he doesn't have medical insurance.
    Get well soon Skippy.

    Back in UK

    Hi everyone thanks for all the get well messages.
    Obviously I'm gutted to be missing the GP Season. Looks like I'm out of commission for 3 to 4 months.

    I'm walking & there will be no lasting damage. I came within millimeters of being crippled, a little more speed and that would be that, so mega lucky.
    The insurance company have been great "Fogg Insurance" http://www.fogginsure.co.uk/.
    I got home at 10pm last night after 2 ambulance rides & a flight (1st class) with a doctor.

    So final damage toll is 4 fractured vertebra (C7, T3, T4, T5) , 9 fractured ribs & a punctured lung, not bad! Mmmmmm.

    The worst of it is it wasn't a tale of daring-do, I was skiing off-piste in about knee deep powder snow on a fairly flat (really flat) pitch and hit a rock under the snow, somersaulted forward landed on the back of my head with the rest of my body coming down on me, craaak!! Made a hell of a noise and the pain was somewhat intense & couldn't breath.

    So again thanks for all the messages, hope to see you all soon, maybe I'll be able to catch the end of the season.

    :):cool::D

    Pete,

    I don't think I know you, but I do have a message for you. I smashed T5 and T6 in a bike crash, and landing on my head cracked the orthotic peg on C2. So like you, I was millimeters from disaster. Five years on, I back in rude health and still a poor shot!

    So get around as much as you can and set a target to achieve every day. Good luck.
