Right, i have taken charge of a 4.49 pellet sizer. Read the intructions though cant find where the battery goes?

Anyway, sized some mozzies and see the skirts are now nice and round, the heads are just about being "sized" too it seems.

Wont shoot any sized pellets until tomorrow, but noticed over the crono consistancy is the same, but they have dropped about 6- 10 fps on average?

    Any ideas why this is?

Saw the same thing in my walther... didn't worry me and I left it alone.

did not have much time for checking / comparing today but did manage a couple of groups.
I think the sized mozzies did seem a little tighter but i need a not so windy (3-4 inches at 55 yards) day to come to a conclusion?

in my FWB, I noticed a small drop in FPS, but the groups were tighter at 55

I have set my clicks for sized pellets, so it does not affect me (I still miss ).

Sizing used to take 10fps off my PT with mossys, sizing gave a more consistent drop onto the right line though (less vertical spread)

Have sized a batch to put through my scr tonight to see if it makes any difference to group size indoors.:)

I found exactly the same with my Pro-T. Mossies would drop maybe an inch lower at 55 yards if they were sized, but they dropped consistently.

Right, both guns set up and working so went off to club today for some more testing. Cleaned both barrels then realised i had the shotgun!!

No, did the Tm first and set about 45 m + 50 m Card targets. Mozzies straight from the tin very good at both ranges, inside full kill each time but not a tight grup, slight wind aside.

Mozzies that had been sized to 4.49 seemed much tighter, well, they were. Moved into 35 m + 40m and if i held the gun stady it was pellet on pellet with sized but unsized still a bit or movement.

Conlcusion, Tm 100 like sized pellets.

Did the same thing with the Njr and had exactly the opposit results!

Sized mozzies went all over the place, staight from tin were gouping superbly!!

So sized for tm and staright from tin for Njr!

where do you get sizers from? and how do you know what size to get???

My Steyr loves mozzies in 4.52 BUT there is still room for improvement, from me and the group size. How do you work out what size sizer to get?

I already weigh wash and lube them but would like to size them too!

forgot to say, the sized mozzies in the tm were same point of impact as unsized, the Njr however with sized mozzies were dropping about 6 clicks low at 50m, so another reason not to use them in njr!

I have just got a 4.48mm sizer (from UK Neil). I had been weighing JSB expresses (7-78-7.89gn range). As well as this I also have just floated the barrel on my walther.
Anyway, the sized pellets did drop the fps down about 8fps on average and the POI at 55yds had about a 3/8" drop. However once id re-adjusted my elevation clicks i achieved some very very tight groupings (albeit off a bench rest). These groupings at this distance gave me a lot of confidence. I continued getting extremely good groupings as I brought the target in closer.
I have now put the elevation clicks into the "real World Clicks" software programme and will now carry out a test at any distance not already confirmed in practice.
So as far as Im concerned I think sizing pellets for my walther works.

I'm happy with the accuracy and consistency Alan, so it's back to Dave Brayford tomorrow for finishing off - anodising / engraving etc and then a stock. Coming along nicely now :)

But will continue to use the PT for comps until i've learned the SCR's quirks - it will have some, they all do.

Strange day on the sized pellets today.

At lower ranges 20 -35 M they were in the same hole, literally. I even began doughting i had hit the targets at times it was that good!
They did seem to spread / be taken by the wind more than i was expecting at longer ranges though (45 + 50m) but this may have been a sign of the barrel needing a clean? Either that or like the lightweight falcon pellets, great at shorter ranges not so at critical distanaces!

Has dawned on me to try a 4.52 sizer though?
