Yep think you right Phil, used the rifle on Sunday (without the pellet pusher) and had at least 4 shots take off high and right, the wind wasn't strong enough to move the pellet by over a mill dot at 45y, especially when the wind was left to right:( another at 25y missed right by a good pellet width.

Also had another (again) 45y drop by a mill dot (2 mill dots from cross hairs) left, when all the pellet strike's were 5 o,clock.

Think there could be an Issue with the reg and time between targets.

    Mike.

If it was shaving bits then who is to know where it was shaving bits from. But when we had a rifle that was clipping the transfer port then fliers is what we saw, but over the chrono it was good. A group with around the clock fliers was the symptom.

I'd rule that out first, unless it's varying over the chrono as well. Typically though power and hammer snags tend to show just a vertical dispersion.

Ha-ha Cool name, but it need shortening down a tad... me thinks.
Used one in my steyr 'selected' barrel today some x-winds up to 12mph or so, the groups were not too bad. But I'll need a nice day rested on a bean bag me thinks as I was shooting HFT style. Power went up only a few fps.

However, I've just seen that there's a tiny bit of a lead mark \ rub (not that sort of rub so calm down :p) on the top edge of the pellet pusher.
Hence can you maybe make a couple a tiny bit narrower? or I'll see if I can nip up the t-port a little bit more in case that's lifting up the stabilizer a touch.. .

Same here too, maybe if it was halved so nothing could scuff the top inside of the barrel

Ill do some a bit smaller diameter .
I was rather hoping they would centralise themselves .

    easy fix

Phil, just wondering if a cross shaped slot just in the inner ring would give back some volume, plus allow a bit more flex as it pushes the pellet into place?

Justs wants the top half removing so its just a U shaoe that enters the barrel.

Could this scuffing actually damage the barrel?

Mine is also raising the stabalizer a touch on closing .
Surely the problem is the barrel is not central , the probe is forcing the stabalizer to the centre of the bore.

With the way this is set up there is no way of pushing the pellet off center. As one seats the pellet with fingers and push flush with the barrel, the projectile is centered already. The probe just nudges it a few mil further. I've never experienced any irregularities regarding anything off center. And I haven't noticed any interference with the air flow around the probe. The guy that did the install is Allen Zasadny in the USA. I'll call him and find out the R&R he's done. But he does not put anything in a customers rifle that he hasn't tested extensively. Certainly no shaving lead off the pellets :)

Time to get the engineer’s blue out and see what’s going on with the breech...

The problem is the transfer port which needs to impart force up on the bolt to enable a seal. This can then push the bolt off centre from the barrel. There’s a lot of play if you offer the two up but the o-ring bridges and seals the gap.

If the pusher can be necked down and still have integrity then it could allow a certain amount of slack. But given how bendy the Steyr twin slot can get there’s going to a be a limit before it all needs setting up at the shop.

Made a few Smaller dia short length end pip versions , last night . They seem pretty baggy in a couple of barrels we tried .

I'll do some longer pips today for std steyr barrels . (+1mm)

I ve reduced the big dia too and will send some softer orings which will hopefully allow the TMB to centralise.
The thing I am trying to avois is going Too thin on wall thichkness.

Ill pair a couple right down and see if they work and last

Dont get Too worked up about Mike's pellet shaving .
His barrel has no leade at all .

    mike leade.jpg

It would have been shaving before ,but guessing all the particles were folling the pellet down the barrel . Prob now they are getting trapped between the Tmb and stabilizer .
Better get it round Mike . Nip this in the bud
