Right, i am firmly in the camp of this batch of pelletsd may work, but the next may not.

Our club took some dai 30 jsb a few weeks ago and everyone is struggling with them it seems.

So, what do the batch numbers on the tins mean?

I have Mozzies with the following

0 790 09 - i am presuming 09 means made in 09? No idea what the other numbers mean?

    4.52 30 (4.52 size, 30 dai number?)

    My Jsb express have
30007909 -Guessing 30 = Dai number, 00790 means something simular to the 0 790 on Mozzies and 09 is
    year made??

    0 4.52 - No idea what the 0 stands for, 4.42 size!

    Am i on right tracks?

    JSB serial Nr. meaning

    Evening all.
I've visited some years a go the JSB factory at Bohumin.
I made a big report of this visit but it's in Spanish. If someone is interested on it, please e-mail to me and I'll send you the full report
During this visit I asked to Pavel Kolebac the serial number meaning .
    His answer was:

    • The first one means the press machine used to produce it
    • The two next digits are thecontroller operator identification
    • The next two digits are the selection or sorting operator identification
    • The last one is the year of production
    • Sometimes appear S1 on the left side of the serial . It means a batch change, for example after the die subtitution to be repaired
Anyway I see the serial Nr you have has two more digits. perhaps the criteria has changed since the date I was there.
I hope this could help to everybody.

    Regards

on my mozzies, they're like this..

    1 610 07
    452 12

    0 500 05
    452 03

i think the 07 is definitely the year, as the 05's are well old, part of the first batch to come out here. The 452 is definitely the supposed head size.

    the exacts are marked

    3005809
    8 452

i reckon these are more akin to Tesla's numbering... 09 and 452 i think are date and head size...

Rob's expresses are from die 30, Simons are from die 300

The "S" number next to the head size means the batch number from that die, when I first purchased some Die 30s from Airammo they were S1's, a year or so later they have gone upto S7's & the last lot I got were S9's. If you compare the three different batches you can see the surface quality of the pellet is slowly deteriorating, this however doesn't seem to make a difference to the accuracy as they all group very well.

pete, i think si might have stuck an extra zero in :) (i assume you mean exacts, rather than expresses ;))

i think my S might have fallen off... so these are probably s8?

As I read it that Rob's are die 3? Honestly the numbers IMO are a lucky dip, just find one that groups and buy as many as possible:)

    380
    390

Pete it could be due to the extra digit at the end i.e 10 , did they previously use say 7 for an 2007 batch now have to use 10, (2010) making an extra digit????
    E.g. 3005809 is now 30058010, confusing ain't it.

No mate there is a further digit at the front

    I have some Die 70 & 90 which are

    7007710 & 9006810

But the other new dies are like this

    19006110
    40007310

the 2007 batches we 07 so the 2010 batches just become 10

you may have then had die 7 and 9, the new ones you have could be 19 and 40??? Confusing:confused:
At a second guess, Pete the controller number of your batches is 00 and the packer 61 and 73???
