Following a Post on another board

Read that many have Notice that Pax Gun's has suddenly - Reopened

For many years it's been to delivery and Collection Area for Pax Pellets

As like many other retailers - found that running a Retail Air Gun Shop
was not a financially Sound Business
Especially when you main income is making and Marketing British Made Air Gun Pellets

But in recent months the Shop has be refurbished and Stocked
By the New Retail Manager - Chris Thrale

Even has a New Web site http://www.paxguns.co.uk

And seems to be keeping the Bank Manager Happy as more Air Gunners find the Shop and Services

Understand that the New Air Compressor will be installed next Week
So offering Air Bottle Fills as Well

Who is known to be found in the Shop sometimes - When Collecting Pellets

Was quite impressed until I read this:-

'Additionally buyers of new air rifles, (or pistols) may have the option of having their purchase checked on the shop chronograph in order to determine the muzzle velocity, power output and consistency of their gun, using the pellet(s) of their choice. A print-out of the result will then be provided. This service is also available to customers generally for guns not purchased at Pax Guns, at a nominal cost of £5 for 1 - 2 pellet types tested, or £10 for 3 - 4 pellet types. An accuracy testing service is also available within the shop premises, whereby customers can have their air-rifle tested on our purpose built test rig, which is installed in the basement, at a range of some 20 yards. These tests are intended to establish the most accurate pellet to use in any particular gun - invariably one of our own pellets, (Defiant/Dynamic/Rangemaster/Penetrator/Piledriver) gives the greatest precision! This service is provided at a cost of £25, by appointment only, and takes between 30 and 60 minutes to undertake.'

Surely a claim too far?:D :shot:

I don't know a single person on the circuit that is using them and they certainly do not work in any gun I own:cool: I gave mine to Ryan to blast through his Steyr LP50:D:D:D

Pax , uses most makes - a Lot of Defiant work was done around Daystate Barrels & Gun's
But Final Testing was done with most other makes & models to see what head sizes was required

Must be working in more Gun's as Thousands of boxes have gone out UK and Overseas

Out of those 'Thousands' I wonder how many were repeat orders, or were most people, like me, buying one and vowing never to buy another?
Tried them in five different Daystate rifles and a Steyr, awful results in all. :(

Bob, if it's not too much trouble could you or Hugh find out who these people are and what they use them for? As you know my pistol goes quite well with them but none of my rifles do. Be interesting to know who's doing what, with what and how well with them.

To be fair Dave, the way I've been shooting recently, I'd probably miss you with any pellet, and to be fair to the Defiants, I'm still using them, nearly full box makes a useful office paper-weight. ;)

I will try the defiants one day, just to lay to bed in my own head wether they are actually crap or not. IT's only fair I do so.. I have a feeling most of the pellets off the production line are heavy for FAC rated rifles though... ??

    Which we know work better..
