After speaking to diane , pauls wife , she mentioned having a shoot named after paul .
We at anston mentioned a while back about having the above shoot named after paul but I didn't
have the heart to ask him whilst he was still with us .
I mentioned this to diane & she was over the moon at the idea .
We are currently organising getting the trophy back from last years winner , simon ayers & will be getting it remarked & from now on the shoot will be known as the ' PAUL JAMES BRITISH RECOILING CHAMPIONSHIP ' . A very fitting memorial to a top lad , im sure all that knew him will agree .
The date will be the 13th april 2014 at anston .
    Thanks , andy .

Nice one Calps. Look forward to shooting this in Paul's honour, and I'm sure all taking part will have him in their thoughts. Neil.

Hope to see a few bowing the dust off their twangers to have a stab at this one ........

Let's aim for a massive turn out for a fitting tribute.

If any FT shooters who normally shoot PCP want to have a go but don't own a FT Boinger, I will have 1, maybe 2 spare FT boingers on hand for you to have a go. Both will be fully set up with Leupold Comps on them.

    Neil.

Neil I will have to have a go with one of them.
I know I can't do them justice, but would like to do this shoot in his memory.
    See you at millride.

No problem Steve, you can have a practice up the club with one of them. Neil.

Hi Neil - talked to John Lee at the club today and he asked if he could use one of your spare guns on the day.

He is only a poor pensioner and cannot afford one ;)

I've got an ambi LGV you could use - you might have to shoot in SFT class with it, but it's got a really nice VXIII 6.5-20 on top with Gen2 mildots, so perfect for SFT and bracketing.

This year's comp will again have enough interest to make it two sessions so maybe, if it's possible, people could arrange to loan their rifles to others who could shoot the alternate session.

Just a thought as more of Paul's friends could then show their affection for who was an inspiration and a genuine good guy.

Simon, Instead of buying a steyr, why don't you spend the money on a tx200, get it sorted by the murf and you will have a superb gun to play with and save your self some money and pain in the process.....Not to mention it will improve your shooting;)

    Bargain of the year

Over the weekend a few ideas were thrown into the pot for the shoot .
Shaun came up with idea of having a t shirt for all competitors ( marv idea )
So it will be roller skate orange ( pauls car colour ) with a nice little ditty emblazoned across front & back ( top secret as to what it'll be for now );) in black . I would also like to thank the BFTA for stumping up the set up fee for the shirts & shaun for organizing the shirts .
We will be charging a tenner to shoot & that includes the t shirt .
Diane said today that she would like all profits to go to the ' prince of wales hospice ' who looked after paul so that's where they'll be going .
Shaun is flirting a list up later , so any one that's planning on coming , if you stick your name , class ie - hft , sft or ft plus your shirt size please that would be great .
Looking forward to the 13th april already , should be a brill day out to remember a top lad by .
    Cheers , andy .
